  1. Everyone says distance is such an advantage lmao try hitting that dumpy little 200 yard slice drive 90% of golfers hit over 340 yards instead

  2. It has more to do with the player than the equipment! My handicap went down when my swing speed went from 112 mph to 129. The gains made ALL COURSE SHORTER!

This also hurts the short hitters the most. And juniors too. Worse of all it increase the chances of slow play! The player is stronger and faster than before! THAT IS THE MAIN DRIVING FACTOR!

Also how would this affect long drive? But they do not care about that anyways!

  3. Just boomer think in action. Let technology improve. Most people in our club still can’t break 80. Is it really such a problem if equipment lowers scores across the board

  4. The best fix is to toughen up the course make it a disadvantage being closer or off line. Make them play more tactically hitting in positions rather than the open courses they play now. Also if it stays as a local rule so just tours use them I would love to see what they would do if the main ball manufacturers turned round and said no we’re not going to make them as it makes no commercial sense.

  5. Rory: “Amateurs pay thousands for equipment thinking they play what I play to support me playing far superior equipment.”

  6. This is bullshit, I only carry a driver 243 it's hard enough to play courses like Pinehurst 2 from the mens tees already, glad I will hit every club shorter.

  7. This option is the least costly for us golfer, balls are going to cost more for us golfer regardless since we need have to pay for the new R&D , since pro don't pay for golf balls.
The average Joe always pays the price…

  8. Maybe with the rollback in distance the manufacturers will focus on making straighter flying balls and the scores will stay the same or even go down? Idk food for thought. Cheers

  9. One of the main reasons there are longer hitters now is they work out and are fitter! Just ban them from the gym and distances will tumble 😂🤔

  10. This is what we get for tolerating and supporting stupid arguments against two sets of rules. Rory is dead right. People grandstanded about how biurification would “destroy golf” and now because of that idiotic nonsense, everybody gets a shorter ball.

Screw the greedy manufacturers. They had the power to get on board with a tour ball for many years, fought it because of pure marketing greed, and now Joe Bogeygolfer gets a shorter ball.

All you can do when this goes into effect is move up a set of tees, Joe. Which will probably help speed up play anyway.

  11. So now club manufacturers will make new clubs that perform "much better" with the rolled back ball.

  12. I hit the damned ball 240 yards, now u tell me that I will only hit it 220 or less? I will quite, where is a good fishing hole? Just ordered another dozen pro v's!

  13. If this happens, its gonna severely hurt grass roots golf, pro golf is irrelevant when dictating what happens at grass roots level as only a handful of golfers even make it to scratch let alone mini tour and tour pros. Why are they letting the minority of golfers who train and works their asses off to be a golfing unit, that have these insane swing and balls speeds compared to 20-25yrs ago be the statistical bar, when they are infact severe outliers. Most golfers wont get lower than 16 in their whole lives, why are they getting punished for something that isnt anything to do with them. This just goes to prove how backwards and out of date the majority of high ranking golf boards and bodies actualy are.
