So humble, but I think on the inside there’s lots of confidence and belief in himself. Can’t wait to see if he can force his way onto the field (fighting for the spot next year) similar to Branch this year making the team make him a spot !!

It's premature to talk about Hooker taking over for Goff. You need to see how he performs on the field and if he can stay healthy.

A first rounder QB talent should never be droped to the 3rd round regardless injury in this era. A WR, Ja-mo was selected in 1st round even with torn ACL.
Cheering for Hooker but there is very slim chance of him to take over the QB1 job in Lions.
Don't get cheap and believe you are the most special/luckiest team in the world.
If you want a top-tier QB talent, you have to spend your top pick(very early). The history just tells that.
It's just wishful thinking if you believe Hooker turns into the next Goat or Kurt Warner.
Out of the three games you mentioned Goff did come back and won two of them. How does it work? When you win you're the greatest, when you lose you're just not in the top five, right guys! Sure ! How can you be so worked up, it wasn't Stafford for 12 years and the first season playing for the Rams he takes them to the Super Bowl. All you guys never ended up giving Goff the respect he deserves. There are exceptions to the hate Goff rule but not many.

Not many QBs with no significant weakness, but HH would probably be the closest, not to mention a lot of talent. If someone gives him the chance and surrounds him with an Offensive Line and weapons – he probably be a top 3 QB.
If Hendon wasn’t hurt He easily could have been in the Top 3 QBs in the draft. If not #1. Next year we will see What Hendon will do. I Can’t Wait.

I questioned whether they were gonna activate him or not. Looking back at the 49ers playoffs last year it makes complete sense. I'd be happy to see both he and Teddy preseason next year but whatever happens he'll benefit from getting practice time. Who knows his ceiling but it's a developmental type situation and he's just getting back to work. They're going to get him up to speed but hopefully we won't need to see him too soon

What would Goff be without one of the best OL in the NFL? I think we saw it last game. Goff is a good QB and these next six games will tell a lot. Hooker is accurate, mobile and cost waaaay less which would allow us to sign free agents for the defense and sign our own.
The 'Hendon Bust' or ' Brad wasted pick' statements from everyone are hilarious.
If Hooker is a career backup that will 100% be value as a 3rd rounder.

You develop him and when appropriate, you get him into games to mop up. If he shows well in preseason, which he should be playing ALOT, and any opportunities he gets in the next year or two in live action, it can only help the Lions. If Goff remains the long term QB, a solid Hendon Hooker will net you serious draft capital. If Goff isn't the long term answer, given your draft position and situation, having Hooker already in the fold means theres a chance the GUY is already here. Brad and Dan are too smart to assume Hooker is the guy at this point. All you have to do is look at draft picks taken in the top 10 overall picks (much less an injured guy taken in the 3rd round) over the last 10 years to know that drafting a stud QB is rare and doesn't assure you of anything. Hooker 'may' be awesome but chances are he won't be…but the best way to get the most out of him is to begin his development ASAP.
You can't lump him into a "3rd round QB" though, if he wasn't hurt he would have been drafted way higher.

I agree totally. I watched them give Stafford a huge contract then not have money to spend on a supporting cast. Goff has shown alot but how did Brady win so much? By taking less money so they could pay others too. I say if he wants more then 36 mil we let him walk and pursue other options. Like you said a good qb on a great team = success IMO for what its worth
