Absolutely wild to hear Florio advocate for Caleb to walk away from $40M guaranteed so that he can sit around for 2 years doing nothing then pick his team, and MAYBE earn a big contract.

If Jim Trotter is employed in California which is where NFLN is based, California is an at will state and can terminate at any time with no reason. But his contract was up. When are contractors guaranteed continuing employment.
As for Caleb Williams, he isn't exactly a first overall slam dunk considering the antics the past few weeks. Plenty of retired players have said they don't view him as a leader of men.
The draft is for competitive balance. It is a much better league without 2-4 superteams.
