  1. What level of forgiveness or playability would you compare a set of Srixon z-765 irons vs the mp-20hmb for a 105mph driver player? Thanks

  2. Id like more loft on my 5 iron its 24🤯🤯🤯 this is where the "game improvement irons" must be wrong to little loft wont launch due to speed as well 🤷

  3. Manufacturers cut a bit off the length of the shaft, add a bit of bottom weight and re-label an 7 iron as an 8 iron, giving the idea you hit them further. I happen to own two of the sets in the video, well I own the SC MP18s but they have the same loft/lie/length as the MP18 blades, and the MP18 7 iron is more or less exactly the same loft/lie/length as the JPX 921 hot metal 8 iron. Thus for any given shot distance I pull the same (loft/length/lie) club out of the bag from either set. What it says on the bottom is immaterial.

  4. Good video. Helps confirm how I've been thinking about which irons are best for me. I think 7 iron loft between 30 and 32 works great for me with progression to 24 degrees in the 5 iron and 44 or 45 PW. Next decision is club head design. I've play both CB and hollow body types. Spin consistency with CBs seems a bit better to me but forgiveness is a bit better with hollow heads. I seem to get similar outcomes on the golf course but with different tradeoffs. Would be interested in hearing your thoughts on that and if you find the current crop of hollow heads do a better job on spin consistency.

  5. Great video ..I had the same problem when testing the Mizuno mp 225 7 iron hit 5 shots with it average 200 yards I don't want my 7 iron going 200 plus yards

  6. How does a strong lofted club have a purpose. I'm still very confused to this thought process. A strong lofted 5 iron is just a 4 iron. A typical set of strong lofted clubs just starts 1 club higher. If you look at the loft of the irons, a strong lofted set that starts at 4 iron, will have the same lofts as a standard lofted set that starts at 3.

The only advantage of delofting the clubs, comes to the manufacturer, where they can basically lie about added distance, when in reality, the distance at specific lofts hasn't changed. It's all about the marketing. Any time I see a PXG commercial talking about their added distance with the new irons, it makes me not want to buy them, because I know that the clubs are just stronger lofted. Maybe manufactures should just stop putting an iron number on the club and start putting the loft. Then we would start to see more consistency with advertising.

  7. Great video mate, I love that you talk about the second market. Just a quick question i play the mizuno jpx 900 would there be much difference to move to the tour as my swing and strike has improved?

  8. always loved the x-tour forged but I always end up playing best with cavity back forged stuff like ansers or fg tours both in the best value budget zone

  9. Love that… However, I do have a combo set of blades and very shallow CB, 34° 7 iron, almost no offset, 130g x-stiff shafts, and still struggle to get the ball to go anywhere but to the left unless I work very hard on a fade that most my playing partners say typically is a "straight ball, may be did fall a yard to the right, maybe???". Do they do "onset" irons with 36° 7irons???

  10. Question for you Simon, I’m still playing the same dci 990’s that I bought in 2001. I have changed the shafts 85g regular due to having arthritis and old age, not been able to play for 12 years but now I’m able to play again but for how long is anyone’s guess. Any suggestions 7 iron is 36 degrees
