I actually never knew of that situation with his son. It's like one of those silver lining things with something even more important than a Daytona 500 trophy… Although pretty much everyone still would have prefered Sadler winning over Kenseth.
Not counting Speedweeks that had fatalities, 2009 was of, if not, THE worst Speedweeks in it's entire history.

I remember his first win at Bristol in 2001 driving for the Wood Brothers. That was neat to see.

i was always a fan of Sadler even though he did not have the success others had. always felt like he had a black cloud over him or just bad luck

I always liked Elliott. I’ve got a few diecast he signed. I wish he would have gotten the Xfinity championship. He was close many times. But someone would always mess it up
