I am gutted….I was really looking forward to this event
When you do something out of spite and retaliation, it never ends well.
Netflix was terrible, over inflated Hollywood blow up…was terrible and not good for the tour players…. embarrassing
Not even real golf and they couldn't get it going on time…maybe they should have asked Greg Norman and it could have started in time! 🤣🤣 LIV all the way!!
Rory was so confident this was happening just like he was so sure that LIV wouldn’t get started up. How long does it take to rebuild this? Didn’t seem like a very good structure if it was collapsed from this. If they playing here permanently, then why not make it a more permanent structure. This enlarged tent seemed put together like a circus. How is that a premium venue? I don’t think they got everything right and they need that extra year o keep perfecting this tech
“Golf is a good walk, ruined”
So Rory thought it would be a good idea to remove the walk. Anybody could have seen where this was going. Straight into the dustbin of awful ideas. As a volunteer marshall who enjoys the real world, real grass, real air and real golf, I say good riddance!
Come on Boys , Really ? This is NOT Golf , Rahm pulled out for that very reason. As a business concept it's flawed because it's NOT targeting Golfers , it's targeting potential Golfers and anyway this could and would be re-built with a solid steal structure in less than a month if it was such a Great concept No Postponed until 2025 or has Tiger & the Team lost all their BILLIONS of $$$$ to make that happen ?
It belongs near a pier or in an Arcade hall but even then to play it will be out of reach for that demographic unless they spend 12 months saving for it that is 🙂
Take care my Friends
So Min Woo, Keegan, Glover. Scotty etc are free to join LIV now, 2 spots available on Aussie team Ripper
This format is a loser period. This arena is a joke…that type of roof has problems industry wide. In the end it will be a total "write off"!
LIV is out but TGL acceptable. Hypocrisy. Anyway someone took them for a ride.
The fix is in! TGL will never happen… I predict big news coming about PGA and LIV tour relationship happening. Rory wants nothing to do with all this stuff anymore.
The TGL is not a viable TV product, sure it may be able to become a great commercial product like a bowling alley but a faux stadium with PRO players and a TV audience????? I don't think it's ready for Prime time, the PGA and LPGA can barely compete with the NFL, NBA or MLB for TV viewership!
C'mon you guys. Just say it out loud, TGL was never going to be sold to true golf fans, this was an insurance job! 😝😝😝🤣🤣🤣😝😝😝
Shame was looking forward to seeing how this turned out. More golf is always better IMHO.
This is going to cost them a small fortune. 1 years delay = 1 years delay in return on investment with 1 year of interest payments on any funding they'd secured without a return. Plus writing off any spend for some of the already repeated works, plus marketing and other fees etc that needs to be re-done.
They'd never get this up and running in a month. The stuff they use at other tour events is designed to be taken down and put up quickly. Modular building blocks.
This is a custom structure. So they'd need to get the failed components remanufactured, potentially some re-design work to avoid this again, and then rebuild it. But as they have started the internal fit-out they will now need to build around what's already there.
So, no way this is doable on 1 month. Even 6 months could be pushing it.
When will Rory and Rahm wake up. They should go to LIV with huge payouts. They can still play the majors and be the spark for a global elite tour which is where it is going anywhere. The TGL is a joke.
Hahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahhaha! Indoor golf, wow, what fun! Give me a freakin' break! It got cancelled because (I'm guessing here) nobody was signing up to either sponsor it or watch it. Failure of temporary power system yada, yada, yada! BS. Well, back to the drawing board.
I really couldn't care less. The most ridiculous concept created in golf. We all know it was a knee-jerk reaction to try and challenge LIV.
At the heart of it I’m a golf fan and I’ll always welcome new platforms and entry into the sport. I agree that this could very well take off and we could see a new series of ‘stadium golf’ events pop up over the next decade given the popularity of certain events such as the waste management and Ryder cup being known for its crowd participation. I do however find it very hypocritical how Rory openly criticises LIV and the fans saying that they act like animals and don’t belong in golf, yet is replicating a similar crowd environment and team/league format for his own event. It stinks of hypocrisy.I am however looking forward to launch 😊
After Rahm bailed I have been waiting for the next shoe to drop. I’m a golf junkie to the ent degree. I watch golf at all levels whenever I can. Yet I have absolutely no desire to watch this contrived debacle unfold. This enterprise had zero traction.
Who would have thought? A simulated golf league had a simulated building!
Karma is real
I would be very surprised if TGL ever happens. Personally I think they saw the Netflix cup, and realised it was absolute shite and not well received. This seems like a very convenient coincidence to avoid embarrassment about scrapping the TGL
