  1. U can’t play this shot with 3yr old wedges!!! Rory will be using a brand new wedge and a premium brand new golf ball

  2. Great video! That shot is very addictive. Pretty soon you'll be pinching off your bump n runs.. Just because you can
    😎👍

  3. Great video! I’ve watched Rory’s pitch on 17 a hundred times. This is the first YouTuber I’ve seen with the stones to try it…and of course it’s Peter Finch! 👏

  4. The fact Rory nailed it under the most intense pressure at that moment in time. One of the best short game shots I’ve ever seen

  5. I saw this shot live on TV and I died for a second, saw a beam of white light, and came back to life!

  6. Great video! Would love to see you try to replicate woo’s flop shot from the bmw pga

  7. It’s fun playing around with spin. I’ve got a 20ft length of high end putting turf. And I’ve recently been hitting chips off it. Trying to get the ball to stop and check before reaching the end of the turf. You really learn a lot about how to impart a crazy amount of spin when hitting short chips like that.

You’re spot on about what it takes. Open face. Come across the ball. Speed and confidence. Using the bounce and hands low. Personally, the hands low feel is what makes it most repeatable for me.

After about a week or two of getting the feel down. I took my newfound skill to the local club’s practice green to really test.

This course is the reason I started down this road in the first place. Of all the premier places in the area, this one is far and away the most demanding when it comes chips and short wedges. For some reason, it’s next to impossible to get chips and pitches to check and stop. They’ll look like they’re going to bite, but release and roll out every single time.

Happy to say, I finally cracked the code. For the first time ever, I could get the ball to stop the same as I can at any other place in the area. It really is wild why this course is so different. But it feels great to have finally “conquered” it.
