Was Mikel Arteta right to have a rant about VAR after Arsenal’s defeat? Should Marcus Rashford have been out celebrating his birthday after Manchester United were embarrassed in the derby? How did Gary’s search for Maradona end up with him playing golf with the President?
Plus, the boys reflect on a very emotional day for Luis Diaz as he rescues a point for Liverpool and dedicates his goal to his father, who is still missing.

Newcastle got beat off Everton 3-0 and Shearer was in the Diamond pub Ponteland with Steve Harper.
Refused to give a fan an autograph, miserable git.
Be careful, There is nothing for the refs to go on strike.
If you want the best you have to pay for the best, if you don't you end up with shite
My apologies if others have raised this point, I went through a lot but didn't see it. I think the issue is that in the Newcastle v Arsenal match was that 2 decisions should be binary. The out-of-play should be known by VAR, that's the point of VAR. Second, offside, VAR should know 100%. For the other two decisions its subjective, handball and a foul. Personally its a clear foul on the Gabriel. The anger is that in 4 decisions, it went the home sides way, not because its valid, but because VAR can't tell! That is the issue. And then you look at numbers, 4 50/50's and all in one sides favour is not realistic. Just to add, Havertz, wasn't a Red, its was silly and he jumped in, but he didn't make contact at all, so NOT a red. Bruno clearly did commit a Red card, but didn't even get a yellow!
A question for Alan. Which country does have the best referees?
Shearer, failing to be objective against Newcastle…. there's a shock.
Can’t go out on your birthday even if you’ve lost a game .. ? .. I would go out like Gary said..
Was clear to comment
But
….naaaaafxcket bucket…lol
Captain scarlet…arsenal manager
Grow up pol 😂😂😂
Newcastle shouldn't be there yet ..we're just enjoying everything what champions league brings…Great and fantastic
Loving it
Disappointed in Alan. Remember Alan begging (Poll?) Not to 2nd yellow Ray Parlour at Highbury. Thought he would have been better on this.
VAR doubles the foul and slows the game down. I can accept error, I cannot accept reviews like Arsenal- Brentford last season and these 3 for this goal.
On a personal level, mbappe had a better world cup than messi! Top scorer and hat trick in the final🤷🏼
I look forward to Newcastle getting screwed over to see Alan Shearers reaction
Live from Qatar 🇶🇦 Gary's favourite country
That argument for the ball going out, that ball was out. Stop making excuses that will just end up making you blind to simple truths. That ball was out, end of. Plus, Gabriel was clearly pushed in the back. Everything else is just opponents hating on Arsenal.
If the FA punishes Arteta, they should produce conclusive evidence that he was absolutely incorrect.
The acid test for me is if that newcastle goal was ruled out, no one would have complained. Alan is also so ridiculous. He literally agrees with Arteta and then has a go at him. Newcastle got away with robbery in that game, whether it be the goal decision or the Bruno assault on Jorginho.
2:24 really Gary…? Really? Mbappe could have won if he won the World Cup? If England won Harry Kane would have won it? If Morocco won it, Hakimi or Amrabat could have won it 😂😂😂 ga-barge take
2:25 “taken into account” is veryyyyy different to, “all that counts” and last time I counted Haaland had three trophies and bagged in all competitions and broke records left right and centre. And I’m a Gooner, just shocked at the sheer bias 😂 like you owe him.
Where's episode 40?
Shearer if this don,t get highlighted as ARTETA did it will just be swept under the carpet,How many mistakes have been made and appologise from webb and nothing gets better
You guys are a disgrace. You both said var and the ref are poor in the past just as vigorous as Arteta. But now? Riding the line of might bee. Shame. the foul on Gabbie? SMH! Kia is an absolute red, and Bruno could have been probably a red? Language is always subjective but only when it suits our agenda. The problem here is you guys don't care about the big pic only on where the narrative going. The refs are human let's move on, and Artteta failed the robot test. No matter how you finished this podcast going into system of ref and var and the poor levels you guys still dig into Arsenal with no shame considering your own remarks in the past that were exactly in line with Artetas. Shame. Alan, Prof. of you bias is your EPL 11. 2 new castle players both forwards and no arsenal defenders. Did you really watch that game? Shameless, no one should have made your 11 but defenders from both clubs. BTW Big picture. Improving the officiating.
interesting question but in the bundesliga, they did use to do a post match interview with the match referee where they would explain decision process over the big moments during the match as a way just to help improve their image ?
At the end of the day. Havertz shouldn't even be in the Arsenal squad. #ArtetaOut
Fun question for you three, if you were in a movie what movie would you be in.
For me it would be Micah Richards in Terminator, Gary Lineker in Forrest Gump and
Alan Shearer in Dirty Grandpa.
Also if Kane won the German league and the Champions league in the next two seasons, how would Alan Shearer feel if Kane then returned to a top six side in England.
Question. Could you talk us through the mobile phone and sex noises, what was going on behind the scenes and how was it found?
I genuinely haven’t missed a single episode. I actually love this podcast 🤣
Ian Wright and Keown need to put it about a bit more media wise.. Theres a big imbalance in the media vs Arsenal.. Like its just free reign with Shearer venting his side with just Gary,, Shouldve called in a Gunner for this
Alan behave, that was a foul on the defender every minute of every day of…month… season…
can i ask a question please as a proud Irish man and football fan? How would you guys rate Paul Mc Grath as a defender
Question for alan and gary, have you ever scored a hattrick and not won the game
I don't get Gary's point about us thinking foreign refs are better than English refs because we only ever see foreign refs in major tournaments so by default we only ever see the top rated foreign refs.
Surely the point is if the EPL can attract the best players and managers from around the globe, the obvious next step is to sign up the best refs from around the world, some of whom may be the best English refs, but the majority will not be English. Just like the majority of EPL players are not English, nor are the majority of EPL managers
In fact no English manager has ever won the EPL. The most successful nationality in terms of managing EPL title winning teams is Scotland with 14 (SAF 13 and Dalglish 1). The most successful nationality in terms of the number of managers to win the EPL is Italy with 4 (Ancellloti, Mancini, Ranieri and Conte).
PGMOL should start signing up top European managers which will improve the overall standard of refereeing, while also meaning English refs have to up their game if they want to make the cut.
Maybe Micah has had enough time on vacation to come up with an answer for if Spurs are better without Harry Kane
Question for big AL how come you dont show much love towards blackburn did you leave on bad terms? I know your a massive newcastle man but surely having won league at blackburn you have some love for them
4:25–4:40
Why do I feel like ya trying to be funny n laugh at u know who I mean it’s obvious I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who can peep what the joke is about now if I’m wrong I’m wrong but pretty sure is obvious I mean laugh is cool as much as ya might not like it ya was never even close or ever be close to what he accomplished 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Where's the Q&A video, you said Wednesday, it's now Thursday & still nothing.
How are all the pundits talking about the foul? Its not the foul thats the issue, the whole fucking ball was out of play, how dumb you gotta be
I would love a player breakdown. Like talking about a certain player, past, present, and future stars. I would like to hear their thoughts on players such as Zidane or Ronaldo. Ronaldo at Inter was the one to watch. Serie A in the 90s was an absolute beast of a league and probably the best league at the time.
How on Earth could you guys converse about poor Refs and Teams that have suffered remarkably at the hands of poor decisions, and yet NOT mention all the calls that have gone against Man United and how much they have cost them already this season?
Is that some sort f joke?
There should be conclusive evidence though!!! That's why the fucking thing got brought in!! For him to say "a week earlier they got lucky, given a penalty, EVEYONE THOUGHT IT WAS A TERIBLE DECISION" Well the newcastle gosl was a TERRIBLE DECISION! You've got your black and white tinted glasses on Alan!!
It was a foul and even a blind man would tell you that, Joelinton controlled the ball with his forearms which were extended out in front of him while pushing Gabriel in the back of the neck and head and Clare Balding was offside which can be clearly seen due to knowing the ball is hidden behind Joelinton and Clare Balding's legs being hidden behind Gabriel as he fell from being fouled by Joelinton.
Shearer saying hes fair even with Newcastle… Hes talking out of his arse.
The only thing that can't be argued is whether the ball was in or out.
Typical Gary Lineker… inventing an Amber card for himself to sit on the fence and appease everyone like the ultimate jellyback he is
Nuuuuh, there's more to life than football. I have to disagree with Allen there. Was different if he alone had a howler then I would agree but the whole utd team is shit and would've had to have had the game of their lives to beat city
