NC State junior third baseman LuJames “Gino” Groover III was drafted 48th overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2023 MLB Draft. After transferring from Charlotte to NC State after his freshman season, Groover became a two-time all-ACC third baseman. He hit .348 over two seasons with the Wolfpack while also showing incredible plate discipline, walking 36 times compared to only 26 strikeouts in 2023. During his junior season, he hit 13 home runs, drove in 50 RBI, scored 48 runs, and stole 26 bases. LuJames “Gino” Groover III will be a good addition to the Arizona Diamondbacks’ MLB pipeline.
