This week we take a trip to Forest Hill in London to meet the legendary John Parris. The world-renowned cue maker is still busy making thousands of cues for his eager customers who can’t wait to get their hands on one. Stephen takes a trip around his workshop and learns the key processes that go into creating one of his incredible cues. The pair discuss John’s memories of Alex Higgins and Steve Davis, how long John’s waitlist is and whether he would ever go down the factory route.
Stephen also receives his brand new cue from John and gets a masterclass on how to put a tip on, something Stephen has never done before. This is a must watch for all snooker fan, we think you’ll all learn something and enjoy this one!

I really enjoy the insights this channel gives on the world of snooker, and especially like Stephen's congenial personality. As a Yank who is a relatively recent fan of snooker, I wasn't fully aware of Stephen Hendry as a snooker player. Now that I'm fairly familiar with the current big names, I wish I'd had a chance to see Stephen playing in his prime.
Nice sweatshop
8 year wait
So fucken stupid!!
I was very lucky in my life to get a Parris cue for my 14th birthday. I travelled up there with my dad (who told the school I was sick)
I had a wonderful time and met John who told me lots of stories about the snooker stars he works with.
I was lucky enough to purchase a cue and I still have it to this day (I am 35 now)
Even now it’s in amazing condition and it’s due to the craft that these cues are made
I will never part with my cue it’s one of my most prized possessions and to me is priceless
I cannot fathom an 8yr wait
I wish you had asked john to pot a few balls
(tough table challenge dark horse)
So how much would one of these queues cost?
No1 is waiting 8 years for a cue to use for snooker. The person who waits will basically buy it for display purposes only
Very nice people, a pleasure to watch.
brilliant thanks stephen
Imagine a TV series with ex-champs all competing against each other in John Parris' workshop on who could make the best snooker cue! That would be a laugh.
I'm not surprised at the comments calling this guy rude, even in the video he constant talks over Stephen and even contradicts him here and there, can't imagine how he'd treat a mere mortal with no cameras around. What a bellend.
Lovely video! Thank you. Subscribed.
Ton praram make better cues and cheaper
What a lovely loo!😩
"It doesn't work" 😂🤣😂
Judging by Stephens reaction, he's not waiting 7 years for his cue.
I bought a Riley cue from Argos about 30yrs ago and it’s been amazing value.
Little bit warped now but it was cheap as chips.
Still use it for pool weekly.
I’ve heard peradon are amongst the best but I’ve never used one.
Very Cool looking in from Ireland 👌 🇮🇪
As a snooker cue myself, I can confirm this is the correct process.
Steve's…..filled out a bit!
this guy, is brilliant, reminds me of a mild-mannered Bricktop☺
Making a beautiful cue is art
If i waited 8 years for a snooker cue I'd expect it to pot the balls for me and drive me home.
Olivanders???
TWcues are better 👌
I’m sure it’s amazing!
But nothing will touch my Stephen Hendry cue I got from Argos in the early 90’s 🤗☺️🙌
I was fortunate enough to buy a Parris cue from John back in 1987, just after the big storm when he had all the ash he needed! Funnily enough, while we were there, he had a phone call from Steve Davis who'd just broken the tip off his cue. John told him to come round but hoped he was good at wallpapering as he was currently decorating the house. My cue is still going strong.
Normally with a line of People 😆👍 sorry had to be said 😁
Best video yet. Old Skool craftsmanship. Brilliant
How did you pick up the balls on that practising table?😆
Good thing takes while, a German saying goes.
I could do with one I can't pot anything with this one 😢
aa
You know what I was thinking at the end. Someone’s gonna have to pull that table out to retrieve those balls.
8 year waiting list , they must be Rolex's cue making division 😂
What a great video, thanks gents . I nearly bought a John Parris cue years ago now I wish I had.
Another great. Video
