I have had some incredible results following this lesson with golfers picking up massive distance, improved control and even just explaining that the golf shots feel that much better.
What did all of these lessons have in common?? These golfers were using the wrong part of the golf club and as soon as I showed them this drill and technique they suddenly experienced golf shots like never before
ball striking is a key aspect of great golf and this exercise will show you just what you need to do in order to strike the ball well, and the best part, anyone can do it no matter age, handicap or ability.

Another great teaching video Chris! You’ve helped my game immensely over the last couple of years. Thanks and keep them coming.
Nice simple and straightforward. Love 'em. You make it easy!
How do you feel about the use of impact tape on the club face [on the driving range] as an alternative to the red dot?
I'm going to try this. Though to be honest, the sweet spot for me is anywhere on the clubface that isn't the hosel. 😁
Great video as always. Straight into the subject matter without a load of waffle.
Clean your grooves 🤣🤣
Please clean that club face immediately 🤯
Yes but haven’t modern game improvement irons moved the sweet spot down towards the bottom of the club which is where most mid to high handicap golfers will actually hit the ball?
Hello Chris, I have to say I was at the driving range and alls I do is chunk the shot when I try to move the club face down like that. I am at a total loss on where to put the ball with the forward and down motion, and then get shaft lean…… I'm back to wanting to toss my clubs in the pond.I purchased Clevelands launcher clubs for high handicapper , a lot of pop up shots, shaft lean is nowhere to be seen.
Might be an odd question but how do I get my trail elbow “hidden” like that in the backswing? I see every pro do it and every time I record myself, my elbow is too bent and so are my wrists in the backswing. Someone please help
Does this work for all irons??
Do you do this with a 4 iron?
Another great, easy to follow, instructional video, thanks Chris.
Tried looking for my golf balls yesterday after this drill, got kicked out of the driving range.
I had this realisation few weeks back. Some half swings with a 7 iron like trying to hit a stinger but what I found was with an easy swing it went nearly the same as a full bad swing. And it does feel sweet!! Applying it to the course is the hard part.
There is someone that teaches setup 4 impact.
Yep so much untapped effortless power when you get that forward shaft lean and make great contact. I once ACCIDENTALLY put a 5 iron on the green from like 225 out. I just knew there was no way I was going to make the green so I just erased all thoughts from my mind and took my time to make sure I made a good swing and made solid contact. It went about 50 yards farther than I anticipated and I didn't even swing hard.
It finally stopped raining, I,m heading out to the range and use this practice method I will keep you informed
Hello Chris, I used your training method, and I know its going to take some time but I did hear that"click" when I hit the ball on the face and the ball did fly better. The hard part is getting used to the set-up and the swings thru. But you new video on where to look I think will complete the mental swing system.
Hello Chris, I tried this method and I have to say had some miild success but this way of striking the the ball is not going to work for me. I have resolved myself to playing the best golf I can with the clubs I CAN hit and hope to putt better…LOL
Is that why it’s so much easier for me to strike my irons better when I’m going for a lower flighted ball?
How to set up with a 5 or 6 iron. The higher irons mak it work for me! Thanks Chris.
I thought the sweet spot was lower. Eye opening that it’s 4-5 grooves up. I remember that pic of Tiger 8 iron and it is def lower.
Super tip Chris, nicely explained. Hadn’t really thought about it before.
