You the man!!
what if the ball is in the center of the stance? do you still place your club 6-8 inches behind the ball?
I started to do this more, especially with my irons, and found it minimized my thin shots plus being at a better impact position. This lead me to believe I was also playing the ball to far back as I also reduced my hook/over draw.
Would there be any benefit to leaving a gap with putting too?
So do you play an actual round doing this or is this just for practice. I'll give it a try.
How about hybrids and woods?
I disagree with that for sure. Cuz if its that great and better than why tiger, rory, ricky etc, dont set up like that?
Good stuff buddy. It’s funny how moving the ball forward makes me feel less smothered. It frees me up somehow and ball stryking improved instantly. YOU THA MAN.
You are messaging a "Simple Truth" that many amateur golfers just don't ( Fully Understand } implement. Thank you.
So I'm starting at the end of my follow through, I just can't seem to hit the ball
does this set up
promote more of a fade because of the forward position in irons?
Mo Norman was a driving range pro. No pressure on the range.
Unconscious brain.
Do you hover the club at address as well ?
Do you alter the direction the face of the club is pointed?
It also ensures a wider and deeper backswing turn.
Because it slightly alters the geometry of the circle and puts the club on a lower and wider swing path.
I've been doing the 'ball forward' drill alot from your initial Skillest lesson feedback – and I've found it really helpful. But to be clear with this video – are you saying have the ball in it's normally accepted position and just have the clubhead in the middle of your stance or should the ball be further forward than 'normal' as well as the clubhead more central? For example, the 'normal' ball position for a sandwedge is likely to be central in stance and so clubhead is likely to be right close behind the ball as well – or should for sandwedge the ball be further forward than normal to allow that space for a central clubhead position?
