  1. I'll disrespect the Wings. They're trash that will settle somewhere around 12th place in the conference if they're lucky.

  2. It doesn't really matter, because the division of time into weeks and months is so arbitrary.

I remember when Brendan Shanahan had hat tricks in back-to-back games for the Red Wings in February 1997, but didn't get any of the three stars of the week because these hat-trick games happened to be in different weeks. After some complaints, the league ultimately made up for it by naming him the #1 star of the entire month.

At the end of the day, I would rather see one Calder Trophy for the Red Wings (like Moritz Seider got in 2022) than 100 top stars of the week or month. And I would rather see the team win one more Stanley Cup than 1,000 more Calder Trophies.

  3. Larkin has been disrespected his whole career but every team in the league would love a center than can fly like the wind and out of 30 goal seasons consistently

  4. Not disrespected. After that bug struck the team and almost kept DeBrincat out a game, it really disrupted the hot start. They will have to find their game again quickly as not to keep eroding the hot start.

  5. As a wings fan, it is really annoying that other wings fans are upset about the top 3 players of the month. Can't we be objective here, y'all are making us look bad.

  6. They did get screwed out of that Seattle game don't forget. That missed call with throwing the stick is probably the worst missed call I've ever seen. There is reason for debate but honestly the 3 stats are pretty legit. The only argument is the Wings are arguably not established like the Bruins have been the past few years so I would say it's more of an accomplishment for Larkin/Dabrincat to elevate their organization. In that regard they should have definitely been part of the top 3. At any rate Go Wings!!!!!
