It Took Me Years to Learn This But When I Did – WOW! – My Ball Striking Got So Good!



I used to struggle with inconsistent golf ball striking because I never truly understood what created consistent contact. I would hit a lot of fat and thin shots, but rarely took a divot after the ball. Then I discovered this amazing golf swing concept and my ball striking changed forever. I never imagined it could be this simple either. Looking at my old golf swing, there was a lot of variables and moving pieces that made it inefficient. To make consistent contact with the ball, I had to make my swing efficient and eliminate variables. This came down to mastering my shoulders in the golf swing. I found that if my shoulders moved, my contact point with the ball would move. Once I understood this, great ball striking became a normal thing. This is one of the most valuable concepts for any golfer to learn – how to control your contact point. Once you learn this you can easily add power and accuracy into your swing.   1. Hey Tom great video as usual. I have tried a lot but for some reason my lead arm I can’t keep it straight it ends up bending a little bit… can I still be a decent striker with that physical limitation in my swing

  7. I’ve been playing golf for a long time. After watching this video yesterday I tried it for just a few minutes with my 6 Hybrid. I thought I was hitting my 6H very well before the video. Just the first few swings with my 6H were immediately 30-40 yards longer than my previous averages. Amazing.
    So today we played our usual weekly round and I concentrated on the shoulder rotation and straight left arm. Everything went longer, a lot longer, and straighter.
    Mind blown. It’s so easy to get complacent. I won’t anymore. Thanks so much.
    I’m almost 74 years old. Hitting my 3 wood 190 yards today and dead straight. I’m so excited and amazed. And I’ve had many lessons over the years from professionals and none of them ever brought this out like you did so simply. Thank you so very much.

  8. Question in a golf swing how much does your arms have to do with the swing it’s self? I have good back swings but I feel like I throw my arms to it. I’ll try this focus on shoulders only and see what changes!

  9. Great lessons instant results as much as it can be golf.huge percentage of older generation swung like this , I hate the term stack and tilt it’s such a derogatory term issued by the “modern” era of coaching.

  10. I hope nobody falls asleep before they get to the end but here goes.
    I am approaching 70(69 actually)and find that I have lost quite a bit of agility and athleticism (slower and fatter) but still play off a 5 handicap but needed to find a more consistent and easier swing.
    After watching sooooo many online "coaches" and contradictions I came upon your channel and must admit just thought 'here we go again ' but whenever I do try 'new swings' I always give them 100% and plenty of time but still thought that yours would be added to the been there file .
    How wrong was I, I did have to make one minor alteration in the set up for irons and two for the woods but the results were absolutely mind-blowing to me.
    Such a simple way to swing the golf club….. fantastic….so much so I thought about sending you some monetary recompense but knew you would be too embarrassed to accept it so I bought some new balls lol(it is the thought that counts) anyway after playing this new way for four months my handicap is now three!!!!!!….. I can only give a massive thanks to you for your content and to others who may read this, give it a go you have nothing to lose except your handicap….but be honest with yourself and give it chance ,the penny drops quicker than you think 🎊🌟🤩🥳

  11. Great tips!! Whenever my mechanics slip during a round causing topping and/or pulling the ball it's due to my shoulders leaning back. Left arm straight for RH golfers is key. Also, notice that your feet are pointed out slightly that probably helps keeping your balance in the proper position. Working on this constantly will result in much improved ball striking 😉

  12. If you run a line along your shoulder line at the top of the swing you will see that it points beyond the ball by at least 2-3 feet. You do not want to point your shoulder at the ball at the top of your back swing.
