LSU and those other teams are a bad comp. We shouldn't EXPECT championship next year. LSU has to compete with the SEC (Bama and Georgia). ND, Cincy, and CM do not. ND is a great example of what I'm saying – he went 12-0 his third year and then what happened? Got smoked by Bama in the NC. As BK says, you have to be ELITE to win an NC. ND was not elite. It takes longer to be elite. Look how long it took Kirby to win an NC. You have to be elite in recruiting for several consecutive years. LSU hasn't even started being elite in recruiting yet.
We should expect to be better next year. I expect an 11 win season next year. But I won't expect a championship until BK gets 2 or 3 top 5 recruiting classes under his belt.
You guys had way too high of expectations and I genuinely laughed when u predicted lsu to win the championship at the beginning of the year. It’s his second year. No coach other than Nick Saban has ever been able to build a team to that level this fast. I think lsu can get to that level but it just won’t happen right away.
Idk if Nuss the QB to do it. The defense better dominate and the running game has to be effective.
It’s not the same this go around in year three with Kelly. Had he been focusing on recruiting his own players instead of getting temporary players from the portal, then I’d agree. LSU has too much young talent to develope right now. Kelly invested FAR too much in these portal kids. It’s gonna bite us next year

Ask yourself this. How close was he at notre dame? He is not a champion quality coach.

Brian Kelly has improved on offense and regressed on defense. It has been clearly demonstrated that having a great offense with a horrible defense does not work. He is absolutely no closer to a Natty. He is probably further away now. It you thought 2 years before this season at best you are still on 2 years or maybe 3 years.
LSU will NEVER win a national championship under Kelly. He and the tag along coordinators he brought with him are mediocre leaning towards incompetent. Recruiting will drop off if he's not fired.
About ten years they will be a top ten team,but it won’t sustain because that’s the history of the program.
People expect so much so quick. It took Saban 4 years to win a championship at Bama I believe.
About 2-3 recruiting cycles just to get sustainable defensive depth & talent.
