  1. At 6:25, looks like John Madden is talking with a circumspect Ray Malavasi, with big Boomer Bob Brown in street clothes behind him. Oakland was getting pounded by the defending champs at home 37-14. It was 30-0 before Blanda came in and threw two 4th quarter TDs. That’s why Fred Biletnikoff tossed the ball in the air dejectedly on the last TD in garbage time.

  2. The Giants lost this game 24-7 and were on the way to a 4-10 season and Tarkenton's trade back to Minnesota, he threw two interceptions here to to great old Cardinals Larry Wilson @13:10 and then Larry Stallings.

  3. How many “decades” did Jim Hart play for the Cardinals?😀 Those non-turf fields were atrocious back then. The league and especially the NFLPA wouldn’t tolerate that a whole lot now. I got a good laugh at the Vikings mascot who was trying to acknowledge their receiver after a TD reception…..

  4. Good stuff….two steps and drill the qb, knocking him on his ear hole, hey, no blood no foul right? Billy and Sony, they'd tell you today guys with beer guts and a baseball wind up motion without a spiral, oh they can't play. Wrong. Thanks friend.

  5. Football when men were men! Today, you even look at a QB and the ref blows the whistle! You come within 3 feet of a helmet and the ref calls targeting! You brush a receiver and the ref calls unnecessary roughness! Look at crybaby Brady … compare that girly boy to Staubach, Gifford, Unitas, Starr ….

  6. we lose dave wilcox today ……. frisco great ……… thought he was under rated too ….even though he made the HOF……….. from a little town in the corner of SE oregon , vale…….. rest in peace number 64………u are rremembered

  7. Can you imagine the NFL players today playing on some of the lunar surfaces the players played on in the 70's? The NFLPA would be filing grievances every week. Good memories. Love the uniforms back then. Thanks for the video.

  8. I live in Northern Ireland and I was born in 1972. I started watching American Football 🏈 in the mid eighties in my teenage years and have loved it ever since. Great video. One question. In what year were the goal posts moved to the back of the endzone? GOOOO 49ERS.

  9. Lions wearing black armbands for the recently departed Chuck Hughes that year,

  10. It was so cool to see the Mad Bomber, Daryle Lamonica in that old footage. Really took me back. Lots of old memories from that time. Little league football. Gatorade coming out in the glass bottles with the football helmets of each NFL team on the lids. Too cool.
