Opening Round Magic From Martin Kaymer in 2016 | Great Rounds

The Opening Day of The Open in 2016 had many great performances, with many possible contenders for the Claret Jug starting strong.

One of the most impressive in the first round was German’s Martin Kaymer. The two-time major winner (PGA Championship 2010, U.S. Open 2014) made five birdies and didn’t drop a shot on course to finishing the round on 65, five under par.

This early performance put him tied for second with Patrick Reed, as they both trailed Phil Mickelson.
