99 Problems in AEW in 13 Minutes

I was one of those fans who watched AEW from Day 1. I was falling out of love with wrestling until AEW came along and reignited my love for wrestling like how it did for so many others. I loved AEW so much that I started this Youtube Channel just to make video essays solely on AEW as my first 20-30 videos was praising AEW. Somewhere along the line, AEW started to change and now it’s a product I don’t recognize anymore. I didn’t make this video to hate on AEW. In fact, I love AEW and because of that, I have to call them out on their bad moves. The company was built on listening to the fans, and as a fan, I have to say something. This is not the company we all fell in love with. I hope AEW can bounce back because we need them in the wrestling world.

  1. Edge is ok.

    Flair, not so much.

    Banning Hogan, stupid move.

    Paul Wight, stupid signing.

Jeff Hardy, ok but don't expect much

CM Punk fired. Stupid move. This didn't make business sense at all

Too many shows. 3 is too many. 2 should be the limit and that's pushing it

Ticket prices too high. Big big big mistake

  2. Gosh, this is actually sad, tbh. I used to love AEW back in 2020/2021. I became their biggest mark, I admit it, and I was happy. Now, only 2 years later, it makes me really sad to see what's the company turning into:

Empty arenas, lower ratings, top stars constantly injured, botches 24/7, lame and boring booking, real altercations, Edge didn't draw sh*t, CM Punk fired (their biggest signing ever yes or yes). It's pretty sad to look back in time and realize… it's not 2021 anymore. 😪

  3. 100. Repetitive Tony Schiavone interview segments that always end in interruptions, most times seconds into the interview. Like Excalibur speeding through announcements, was funny the first couple times but it’s old hat now.

  4. It's funny how everyone is starting to see what Cornette has been saying about AEW since before Dynamite😂😂😂

  5. The issue of fast wrestling really threw me off when I first watched some AEW matches. Nobody sold anything, everything was super fast, and there were too many people in the ring at any time so it was hard to know what to focus on
I bet matches aren't always like that, but it was jarring

  6. My thinking:

    1. Over reliance and signing too older guys years after saying they'd bring in homegrown talent? As LA Knight said "Dummy Yeah!" but fr I'm pretty sure that's what WcW did during the dying days of ancient 1999-2000.
    2. Moxley doesn't have to bleed, he's grappled aka wrestled for GCW in true WRESTLING style matches, save the hardcore high risk bloody stuff for special occasions, literal opposite of what the Combat club is for proof you can be a genuine WRESTLER not some hardcore style.
    3. It really is unsafe from botches, blood, and whatever for others but idk this was true of not but Darby said he was gonna retire early a comment once said.
    4. MJF and Omega could have been a ppv match.
    5. Concussions and 3 shows a week? If you have someone who works on those 3 shows each week and they do the unsafe stuff.. Well must we mention what working while injured, overworking schedule and an unsafe style did to Benoit's head?
    6. Looking up how many belts a company needs is likely a World Championship, Women's world championship, Mid card belt, and tag belt that could maybe be intergender? Idk just what common people think of instead of how a ton, remember the freebird rule exists for a reason so you wouldn't need 3 champs for trios titles.
    7. AEW game Flop? You had 3 years
    8. Keep Jeff healthy.
    9. Give the older guys more of a backstage role or trainer/mentor type thing, please.
    10. Wrestlers allowed to take time off? It's better for the health mentally and physically but don't let them sit at home too much cause then it's just bad, find a good middle ground
    11. Aubrey is a ref, it's WRESTLING not All Élite Referees.
    12. MJF vs Juice thing, keep politics away from wrestling
    13. Celebrating at day 69 imo is bit funny but should celebrate if they hit a milestone like making it over a year instead of funny number.
    14. Edge to Starks.. Hmm, wcw again, I swear I like wcw's cruiserweights and couple other stuff but they went back 20 years.
    15. That revolution feeling was for TNA too or maybe even WCW, whenever you discover something new and exciting it's woah but then just another thing.
    16. Identity crisis, and whatever else? Yes
    17. Freaks? Imo no muscle juice (y'know what I mean) long as they're healthy and not fat but at least athletic
    18. Jeff Jarret is what Ric was in the 2000s, even Hogan aka TNA in 2010.

  7. Jeff Jarett of more of a star than 99% of AEWs roster. The biggest problem is that AEW stands for All Friends Wrestling. You have a bloated roster with way to many people that will never draw a dime and that are only there because they are either friends with the Bucks or Jericho. Jake Hager is a prime example of this. He stands around and wrestles a crappy match once every 4 months, still gets paid. When you put people like Danhausen, Orange Cassidy, Pizzeria Uno, Joey Nutella, Sonny Kiss, Luther and Kip Sabian on your TV, you just make it known you are a glorified indy company.

  8. As you mentioned
    1. Letting CM Punk go
    2. Having no Creative Team
    3. Crazy Hardcore Booking
    4. Unclear card levels
    5. Poor women's division
    6. Mishandling of talents.
    7. Letting Cody and Jade go is another big mistake

  9. The whole civil war between the Elite and CM Punk could've been avoided if Tony did his job as a manager.

Hangman should've got punished for going into business for himself during the promo battle with Punk that set everything off(when I say punished I mean like a solid few months of jobbing to send a message to everyone that going into businesss for yourself wont be tolerated). The Elite definitely had a hand in the rumors about Punk being behind what happened with Colt, Tony should've put a stop to that IMMEDIATELY and let them know that if they didnt conduct themselves better their titles as EVP would be revoked. During the scrum when Punk had his legendary meltdown, Tony should've cut off the mic immediately and ended the event there instead of allowing Punk to implode while he sits beside him like a scared child. The Elite(mainly the Bucks because reportedly Kenny was mainly there to support them), should've been kept away from Punk after his meltdown till formal mediation could happen. Punk honestly shouldn't have been brought back after the brawl, but he was given WAY too much power upon his return. The Elite should've been made to participate in mediation with Punk to get everyone on one accord, instead of acting like they had a choice in the matter. And Jacka** Perry should've been fired along with Punk because he initiated that fight by antagonizing Punk.

There are just so many situations where Tony kneecapped the company and exacerbated problems by failing in his management of the talent.

  10. Nothing wrong with bringing Edge in. ticket sales and attendance have nothing to do with him, if Tony booked the shows better, Edge would be more appealing. it's all on Tony and his ability to present an exciting show people want to sit through, and his level of ability to spot stars and present them also. which currently he can't do well at all. he could bring Undertaker in and he'd be another guy in 3 weeks.

It's clear by youtube views that people are hyped to see Edge, they just dont want to sit through a full episode of uninteresting Dynamite or Collision booking. They'll just wait till the youtube clips are uploaded to view that one segment. Tony needs to fix the show and his mind first, and everything else will come into place.
