Sir Jim Ratcliffe will take immediate control of football operations at Man Utd should his 25 per cent investment be ratified by the club’s board – possibly as early as this week.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe will pay £1.3bn for 25 per cent of Manchester United after Qatari businessman Sheikh Jassim withdrew from the bidding process.

Sheikh Jassim’s offer, which valued United at more than £5bn, was believed to be the only bid for 100 per cent of the club.

But it is understood that the Qatari’s valuation was not sufficient for the Glazers, who have owned United since 2005 – so Sheikh Jassim has withdrawn from the process.

Kaveh Solhekol discusses what could happen next for the club and also answers your questions on Sky Sports News’ website: https://www.skysports.com/football/live-blog/11667/12985404/man-utd-ownership-key-questions-answered-about-glazers-sir-jim-ratcliffe-and-sheikh-jassim-withdrawal

  1. Truth be spoken and let the facts speak, the Glazers have been at Man Utd since 2005 meaning there has been a lot of happy moments, hence the winning major trophies and very important transfers over the years, however since that time Utd hasn't really improved in terms of infrastructure, stadium and even players I mean the name of Man Utd is not as powerful as it was before due to the lack of respect and passion for the club, therefore going forward it is clear that the old staff must go and new one must come. A complete financial takeover creating a new path. We don't talk about oil clubs anymore when those clubs are winning major trophies. Unfortunately nobody can force the Glazers out.

  2. So the answer to playing in Champions League is to put a man in charge who can’t get his other team consistent European football in Ligue 1.

    Congrats

  3. If the business follows a standard business constitution, 25% doesn’t even buy him the power of special resolution, which essential means he has virtually no power whatsoever.

  4. I want the glazer out but really didt want to be state owned . guess if he gets the power he wants could be a start, he needs to get them out asap though think i seen 2026 . if he get the right ppl in like ifthis paul Mitchell rumour is right then we will be ok .. think we waited 18 years what 3 more haha.

  5. He's not taking control at all he's paying 1:5 b for 25% the money goes straight into the glazers pockets and they still stay in control ,there gonna drain man utd of all the money then maybe sell another 20%wen they fancy it still keeping them in control ,as a Liverpool fan it's nice watching this lol😊

  6. This is stupid the club should of been sold just with this guy coming in aint gunna do nothing it needs selling we aint gunna get no where like this

  7. REST IN ETERNAL PEACE MAN UNITED, Am so done now this club keeps on hurting my feelings selfish greedy people
