  1. Drop coverage fails with 5 shooters on floor . Small ball advantage fails when bigs can cover these slide switch or stay situations . So a lot depends on personnel. P/r games depend on creating mismatches quickness to rim can defeat length or length can defeat the quick on a lob. So a lot is space and pace but also READS and timing. Okc will be different with a pick and pop or roll guy like CH. So we may see less of this health of CH permitting. Pops happen more often in small ball p/r game but interior finishes less when picker hasnt the heft or angle to easily create a switch.

  2. Is this a bit of the extension of Spain pick and roll? The shooter starts in the key and move to the top when the pick and roll happens. What makes it different is the shooter doesn’t set a screen for the screener, but fast out to clear the space so leave less time for D to communicate.

  3. Imagine Penny or Kobe setting screens for Grant, then kicking it out to Shaq for a 3-pointer. This is why I stopped watching ball lately

  4. if they can keep this core players and get them some good role players using there 1st round picks. they will dominating the league in the next 10 years

  5. The same maybe could be said in the nuggets repertoire, where it's jokic leading and various guards set the picks, slides, and misdirections.

With him being savant, any movement of his teammates wont be wasted

  6. I’m interested in more of these… loved the analysis of how they mesh their innovative play style with unique personnel. Really got me excited about what the young team could turn into if they are able to keep this group together and implement Chet well

  7. OKC did such a good job of targeting multiple ball handlers in the previous drafts. Perhaps an open door but if they can shoot at least league average from 3 (they were 17th last year, Shai, Giddey and Dort were below average) there should be a ton of space for the ball handlers to operate.
