Urban Meyer stated that his decision to stay away from coaching college football again was partly influenced by recent rule changes regarding the transfer portal and NIL deals. He expressed concern about the growing presence of agents among players and coaches, noting that it has become more difficult to navigate these situations. Meyer reminisced about a time when only coordinators occasionally had agents, but now it seems like many individuals in the college football world have them. He emphasized that agents are not inherently bad, but as a head coach, he preferred to have direct communication with the player’s family during the recruitment process, rather than having to go through an agent

  1. I'm from BG.. but even if I wasn't, this would still be the best podcast I've come across in a helluva long time

  2. Assembly Hall, Cameron Indoor, and the Pit are my favorite arenas for the television experience, as my in-person experiences are limited to Ohio State and the Ohio-based MAC schools.

Speaking of Ohio State, St. John Arena was great despite the students getting the shaft year after year. It should have been the toughest place to play in the Big Ten. Its replacement, the Schottenstein Center, is an awful place for college basketball.

  3. Antonio Brown maybe was semi-sane when Pete Nelson built a treehouse for him on an episode of Treehouse Masters ( no I am not receiving any $$ for mentioning a show that has been regularly off the air for months). Now Brown comes under the slogan, stupid is as stupid does. Dan is the man.

  4. I generally like OUTKICK content. However, this moron couldn't be more incorrect. THE AUDACITY of these coaches actually believing they've made sports what it is. Jimmy Johnson said it correctly. After all his experience in coaching in both the NCAA and NFL, he stated, "Give me the best players, and I win 9 out of 10 games." One example will suffice. Name ANY coach that wins solely on their schemes, practices, motivation, etc? You can't. Its past time that coaches get put in their place. You're only as prolific as the people you recruit or sign to a contract. This is the most over-rated, overpaid occupation in the modern era. That goes for ALL COACHES in ALL sports. I would love to see a coach Saban team with all white players OF any sport and give me a rag tag team of black athletes that have NEVER played together how they knee the rules, it would take a little while for the black athletes to figure out what they were doing and by sure talent and athlecism would still beat the all white team. That's how much talent matters in sports. This guy and whoever believes this nonsense is delusional.

  5. yea, them Gator teams were all going to class 😂 and So was half the OSu teams😂
