Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Andy Robertson will undergo surgery on his shoulder after picking up the injury on international duty with Scotland.
Klopp said: “The decision will go towards surgery. There was a little chance he could try without, but after talking to experts, it looks like surgery will be the best thing in the long term and that means he is out for a while.
“I don’t know exact for how long, but shoulder surgery is not an easy one.
“In my experience, he can train pretty quickly again but not football-specific because he has to be careful, there are challenges and all these kinds of thing. He will be out for a while.”

FIFA pay up 😢
Soccer sucks
long-term blessing in disguise. We've run our Andy into the ground, a touch, in my opinion (nobody's fault – he's just THAT good!). Nice rest, break away from the monotony of it all. YNWA Andy – can't wait to have you back
Won't make any difference – he hasn't done anything for us (LFC) all season, and he is getting worse as he gets older. I also think he has a very high opinion of himself. And I have never seen as bad a finisher as Robertson.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Buys players from other side of the world. Complains when players go to other side of the world to play internationally.
GOOD, he’s overrated
Coz of these international breaks, we pay for his treatment on international duty, the national FAs must foot the medical bills for players injured on their watch
That’s a huge problem.
And all because of stupid internationals!! This is exactly why I hate internationals during the season. So pointless, and the only team that loses out is the club
Best left back in the league our Robbo and has been for some time. Come back quick lad we need you for the title run in.
Called it sadly , hope he heals quickly .
He'd be fit if they kicked off at 3pm and not 12:30
So sad.
Sorry but hope it doesn't affect the team defense negatively
Oh no…anyways
time for the greek scouser to shine.
We need to start putting our foot down on these internationals. If players want to go then fine but you run the risk of getting phased out the team and/or wages should be halved if its a long term injury just like it would in a normal job and bills for medical treatment should also be partially payed for by the player or national team or both.
This is getting stupid. Wish Klopp would grow a pair of balls and tell them straight Liverpool comes first.
Also, why are our Scouse players playing for England? Every one of them past, present and future should always refuse to play for a country that thinks nothing of us but the worst and stabs us in the back every opportunity they can
we need to spend some money on that left fullback position with all due respect to kostas as i was a huge fan of his until he played regularly and had many shortcomings in his game. Luke chambers promising but still too young and Joe Gomez isnt really a left back much better on he right. Get well soon robbo!
As a Spurs fan, I feel really sad.
Maybe this will trach klopp a lesson he needs to rest players so they can perform internationally without injuries. Club is not bigger than country
Great news for Liverpool, they can now finally get a new LB, Robertson’s legs been gone!
Robbo is such a character for the team, hope he recover well soon. Cheers mate
So sad.
