Sprint car racing is one of the most unique forms of racing on the planet and is the premiere form of dirt track racing in the world today. But how did we get here and if they’re called sprints why does it take all day to put on a race? Well, let’s find out

  1. I remember vividly back when I had this ps2 and I was hella young, I used to play this car game (which I really want to remember which one was it) and then there was THIS aberration, I always thought my controller got fucked up to a point in which always when I raced with these cars it would push me to the inside of the track, I used to hate it, now it all makes sense, and I love it

  2. Dirt track racing, imo, is the true form of racing. It is nothing like the crybabies that run in nascar and like in f1 where you have 1 driver or 1 team dominating.

  3. from Hanover PA here. PA Posse I get what your talking about lol. Love the video, old shots of the Grove and I think I even seen Bobby Allen in there. Ran Hunterstown Speedway when I was a kid with Logan and many others that have blown up, Its awesome to see. Again awesome vidoe!

  4. My dad worked on a pit crew/team for a small sprint team when he was in his early 20s, ive heard some interesting stories from that time. Good to know some more history!

  5. I'm at Gondik Law Speedway watching the North Nationals! If yall never seen a race(any type of race) in person, I HIGHLY recommend it(you're really missing out)! One of my things is I travel for races, idc what type of race, Indycar, NASCAR, NHRA, WOL, anything…, there is an element to being there that ONLY exist when you are there, that you will never feel watching it on a screen!

  6. In my humble pinion – You need a Big set o Clankers 2 strap in one of these & push it to the Max !! Much Respect

  7. Might have undersold the down under involvement in the sport. I've been to exactly once sprint car race, Ironman 55 in Missouri, and I found myself sat right beside an Aussie couple

  8. Dany losaky piston top mi dressor, use 2 think id drive one. Never thought id 👀 nascar boyz get buthurt bkuz thay well i dont know how it happened bu Rubni is racing boyz and girlz rubin is racin🍔🍻🏁🏁

  9. My first job was a delivery driver for a tool repair shop and one of the techs there built and drove a sprint car. It was so weird to me at the time (I went to school in Europe, so F1, LeMans was my thing) but I came back after I was done with school, a month before 911 (Never Forget…almost lost my family. I was lucky but many werent. RIP).

But hearing him talk of his car, I was shocked he built it and drove it. It got me hooked. I started watching Nascar (though I was watching in the 80s before I was shipped off for school. To this day, I still love the grass roots motorsports. Im done with Nascar though (they lost touch), and even NHRA is quickly forgetting what its all about.

I for one am tired of elitism. I want to see the raw talent, on shoe string budgets, with respect for heritage and the past, and having fun, and yes, risking life and limb if it is the individuals choice. Its how greatness is born.

  10. Ah I never gave any credit to these folks. But I do know that some of the best motorcycle riders of all time come from dirt bike racing. Casey Stoner for example used to ride dirt bikes down under before coming to Europe and winning the highest championships there. Somehow I never made the connection, that the same would be happening in 4 wheel racing.

  11. The PA Possey kicks the crap out of the WOO driver's when they come to PA. Then you have the northeast big block modifieds from Delaware to Canada. Just another set of monsters with big motors. Just to watch all this horsepower on dirt is amazing. Great video on the 410 sprints. Nice to finally see people explaining about dirt racing. And not like nascar do one race a year and just run down dirt racing. Those stupid cars don't need to even be on dirt. But thanks for the video.

  12. I used to help work on sprint cars and they are basically just purpose built to be as fast as possible on dirt and that's its you have to have some balls to drive these thibgs

  13. I’m from indiana, and it lowkey hurts hearing winged sprint cars just called “sprint cars.” Nothing against WoO, ASCoC, or High Limit, if any other winged sprint series, but if you put a wing on it call it what it is. “Non-winged” sprint cars don’t exist. It’s a sprint car or a winged sprint car. Maybe it’s just cause I’m from the heart of USAC country.

  14. My local track Williams Grove actually got me into racing and that's why I'm going to college for high performance motorsports

  15. I grew up at the racetrack. I would ride the 4wheeler to the infield and sit there while they race incase I’d crash or breakdown I would go push them either to the infield till the end of the race or restart them. It was the best childhood ever thinking about it

  16. Willams grove in south central pa is damn near down the road from me. When the outlaws come in town people line up days in advace to get good spots. Never got to see one in person yet but definatly want too 😂

  17. I'm 71 years old and I can remember my dad racing dprints and midgets and modifies. No fire suits or roll cages skinny tires no power steering. Those guys were tough and brave. Unfortunately many died young

  18. I'm in the UK and have seen a lot of racing being involved in various forms for 20 years.
I'd love to see these things in the flesh.
Our F1 stock cars are cool but World of outlaws are on a whole different level.
