I broke my arm doing a backside flip on a hip when I was 13. It wasn’t even a good one either, was one of the ones where you go super high up on the hip and barely spin 😂

That's one of my go-to tricks, backside heelflips and kickflips. The trick to keeping the BS heel, underfoot, is to not hang your flip foot's toes off the deck, much. It's not needed but a lot of people do it and then overshoot the board on the landing. Pop a nice FS 180 with your front foot barely hanging off the deck and your pop foot's heel, hanging off the board and then do a heelflip and land, bolts. Actually, you have to keep your body, centered over the board, as it wants to travel in the direction you are turning. Once I learned to counteract that, I was able to do them off ramps/bumps/hips. Enough talk, go do a backside heelflip!
