Shelton: focused determination unafraid
Watching sinner reminds me of old Djokovic when he used to lost matches in quarters or semis. No doubt he is going to be the next Goat. Kudos to their never give up ability 💪.

As an American tennis fan I'm NOT a Shelton fan at all! I'm a Sinner fan and was hoping he'd take care of Shelton and his bombastic on-court antics.

Tennis needs players like Shelton, Kyrgios, Safin etc. They do it their way, and you can’t stop watching them.
They both played wonderfully. Going to enjoy more of their matches. Tennis is in good hands with these two.
Sinner stopped playing after the first set. He could have wiped the court with Shelton.

The hanging up the phone thing. Say what you will, but it's disrespectful to your opponent and doesn't really have a place in pro tennis. Maybe college football.
There was Federer playing beautiful tennis like no one has ever seen, but that kind of tennis became obsolete once power and strength and ability to cover the court by Nadal took over the new normal. New players are becoming more like Nadal but even better in variety of surfaces. This game showed much of that basic analysis: beautiful tennis by Sinner but power, strength and ability to cover the court by Shelton won the match.
I knew Shelton had a serve but never noticed how powerful his forehand can be. And Sinner was deadly from the baseline I think he just needs a more powerful serve
