  1. If an event want to invite a woman to compete, she should be given a spot in the field that doesn’t take a man’s spot. Just create an extra spot. She’s definitely not going to make the cut.

  2. Screw them getting paid to play in the Ryder Cup. Not a one of them is not a millionaire already. It's once every two years for crying out loud. Whiny golfers, who likes them? How come it is only the American players who bitch about not getting paid?

  3. Lexi Thompson will bring eyes to a tournament that given its position in the schelude doesnt get great eyes anyway. Tournament in the fall have suffer from the pissing contest with the big boys and LIV. Like Rex said, for those bitching about it. Play better. For those fans pissed about Lexi playing dont watch.

  4. Let's be clear. Lexi Thompson has a marketing and branding engine provided by Cobra and the LPGA which she hasn't deserved for at least 3 years. In the case of the LPGA they bend over backwards to support American players over the asian players. And having Lexi play in a PGA tournament when she hasn't been the longest hitter, let alone a top tier player on the LPGA for years now is a perfect example. It is agonizing to watch Lexi's swing and even worse her putting. When you pair that with a $.10 cent head you get a player who has earned only $77,000 in 2023 to date and hasn't won since 2019. But of course her marketing and branding folks have started up with the hype again, along with the poor Lexi pieces. I just saw some idiotic piece about how Lexi is treated unfairly over other players. And of course the LPGA made sure to put her against the lowest ranked player on the European team in the Solhiem Cup singles matches and then couldn't hype enough her mediocre 2 and 1 win. Bottom line is that when so much is invested in your hype and branding then you have to perform. Because the status she pretends to have, her marketing and branding folks and the LPGA can't overcome the mediocre player she has been for 3 years now. And it will never fix a $.10 cent head, just like Tom Weiskoplf was never able to fix his. But at least he had a $million swing.

  5. Good point regarding not taking a slot that should go to a PGA pro who has earned such an exemption based on merit. But as also pointed out there are a least a dozen other LPGA players who are more deserving, based on merit than Lexi Thompson is. In my opinion it is her placing her branding and self promotion over the integrity of the game that is the reason those who hold the game in high regard don't like her as a player and a person. Additionally, in my opinion her accepting such an exemption displays a lack of respect for the game and a lack of integrity as a player and as a person. She very well knows she has not earned such an invite, given her performance on the course over the last 3 years, and especially this year. As a member of the LPGA correctly pointed out when Michelle Wie was given an exemption to play in a PGA event as a purely marketing move, "perhaps Michelle should prove herself on the LPGA tour before playing at a PGA event. I have no doubt that Lexi's PGA partners at the QBE Shootouts were either invited based on playing with her or paid to play with with her. Again, doubtful it was earned on merit. Let's also remember what Anna Sorenstam correctly observed after she was invited to the PGA Memorial Tournament which was, "I don't belong out her" And if she doesn't given her 90 plus wins internationally, then clearly Lexi Thompson doesn't.

  6. Lexi was a good golfer. Not super great. But being one of the few American successful women golfers she got a lot of publicity. She is not deserving but of course it is being done to try and improve ratings as Americans don't give a hoot watching the successful Asian golfers.
