So there are no data documenting a catch rate indicating the quota will be met by 10/19, and the closure is based on an assumption from some unnamed person/group that reducing gag season from 6 months to about 2.5 months will lead to more intensive effort and thus the quota will be met in 48 days by 10/19? Much of the gag fishery is in the NE Gulf of Mexico and the fishing was reduced due to the hurricane. NOAA calls this process "science"?
I wish all guides were like this. Seems all the ones I book fill the cooler even when you say you don't want to keep your limit. It's short sighted and the slaughter culture needs to change.
