Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald Plays The Open as World No.1 in 2012 | The 141st Open

Luke Donald had been the World No.1 for over a year as he entered The 141st Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes in 2012, so all eyes were on the Englishman in his pursuit of the Claret Jug.

Heavily supported by a very vocal crowd, Donald was in fine form with his approach shots and putting, making some impressive long putts on the tricky greens.

The 2023 European Ryder Cup Captain was consistent throughout the tournament, which earned him a finish of tied 5th overall for The Championship, alongside Graeme McDowell.

These are Luke Donald’s best moments from 2012.
