The only way to change the culture of any Organization is to clean house. That includes anyone who was a part of management including Chris Getz. Reinsdorf needed to bring in fresh faces with new ideas on what is needed to change culture, IMO!

Identity. Style. About. WHO gives AF. I'll tell you what Houston's Identity is, what they are about, and their style. THEY WIN. PERIOD. THEY ARE WINNERS. F all those other stupid labels. Oh they are a power hitting team, a hustle team, a grind team, a defensive team, a pitching team, small ball team, who about a WINNING team? And Chuck, you want to know WHO this team is? It is Grifol's third-fourth worst team in baseball.
What is with the Sox NOT interviewing a variety of people for the GM job. Sell the damn team!!!!

I love Gordon, but he's not said anything to convince me in trusting Chris Getz. When you watch enough of these podcasts, you figure out who is a White Sox fan and who is a Jerry blow hard.
Summary- Beckham and Getz are tight, Getz is well qualified because he learned under Dayton Moore, doing no due diligence of interviewing for the position is fine because Jerry is a good guy, very old and knows Getz, you can’t blame Getz at all for player development- it’s the player’s fault for sucking. If you read up to this then you by now realize that this summary is a slightly less waste of a time than hearing Gordon’s take.
I lost hope when Beckham was making excuse for Getz's minor league developments lack of success. Maybe Williams and Hahn did some interfering but at the end of the day, there was no pipeline to the majors for the Sox from the minors. If the scouting suck, it Getz's job to upgrade it. Coaching staff inadequate, hire new. He can hide behind Williams and Hahn no more. Okay Getz, show us what you got and by already saying Grifol is staying with the way the Sox are playing, you have already lost. I hope the heck you prove me wrong!

Asking Gordon Beckham is like asking Getz’s twin brother what he thinks. Give me a damn break. Why did you even bother taping this?
The White Sox will continue to be an insult to its fan base and the ongoing joke of the league. Nothing will change until Mr. (I can’t get out F outta my teams way) Jerry and all of Jerry’s F’n kids have nothing to do with it. The fact that Pedro is still managing this slow motion clown car crash is a prime example of not fixing a damn thing.
Just another yes man for Jerry. The organization is stuck in time, any legit GM would have overhauled the entire organization including more scouts, new tech, new coaches and a new managers at every level. This approach would cost Jerry lots of money so he didn't even bother interviewing outsiders. Only a change in ownership can save this organization.
Gordon's reasoning for not blaming Gets for the Sox' shitty minor league system and lack of player development is that Gets was not directly working with the players or scouting talent. Seems to me that the same reasoning could have been applied to Rick and Kenny, who were not managing the team or coaching the poorly performing players. Accept the blame, every level of this organization is third state at best and needs to be replaced.

Beckham is not only a lousy commentator but he just prove that he is also a lousy talent evaluator. Even someone who is nothing more than a casual baseball fan knows that Getz is way over his head. It is nothing short of an insult to White Sox fans that this man was promoted without any merit. Look at the records of the teams in the minor leagues that he was responsible for. Also, can someone, anyone please give me names of any players that he developed which he was supposed to be doing.

I hope Getz is successful but with the terrible White Sox minor league system and player development one must wonder about the quality of his impact. This discussion about team identity is a bunch of BS. Identify as a team that can win some games.
It doesn’t take a genius to see that the Getz promotion isn’t going to change things. He did a terrible job in the minors and not a single player has been developed under Getz and Gordon is just kissing Getz’s ass cuz he probably wants a job. White Sox are a repugnant organization and I can’t wait for Jerry to be gone 🤷🏻♂️
