  1. Didn't do you justice live Dom, so thanks for all your hard work this golf season. Your contribution made the live version so much better. When the show gets off track you help right the ship. Well done.

  2. In 1960 Jack Nicklaus made his first cut and finished near last making $33. Nine years later he and Arnold spearheaded the formation of the Tour. The first Memorial Tournament paid a total purse of $200,000. Look at where golf is today. $350 mil in total purses for 2023.

  3. Paul Azinger needs to be replaced at the Ryder cup, comes off as a sore looser. Over the top, unbecoming of a professional and not entertaining at all.

  4. The difference between Olympics and RC is that the RC makes a big profit…so where does that money go

  5. The story that RC money goes toward PGA C'ship purse is ridiculous….every major must be making a good profit

  6. Sky sports coverage is far superior to what is broadcast in the US. It’s not close. Way to much BS narrative coming from the likes of Azinger

  7. Golf players at Ryder cup level earns enough money as it is, when they actually does something thats more a hobby compared to most other sports. By saying that I mean, in what other sport can you have a beer belly, eat junk food, smoke etc and still play PGA tour on the highest level and earn so much money ? Most sports demands that athletes train physical for hours a week to fight in the top. Hard training and give up everything else good in life. . Dont tell me these guys need even more money to represent their countries as an honor in Ryder cup, They shouldnt be thinking about money at all, cause then they have no passion and they do it only for the money. Many people have important jobs and work they asses off to get food on the table. Most people would need to work over 100 years to earn fhe same as the top golfers earn in just ONE big golf tournament….

  8. A Daily Mail article from two days ago said that the Ryder Cup brings in £445 million in total revenue, which is $541,175,625 US dollars. Of that, £85 million goes to each the PGA of America and Ryder Cup Europe, which is the equivalent of about $104 million.

  9. Yes, I absolutely hate commercials during golf tournaments, especially the “play through” commercials. I would say a lot of folks like myself record the broadcast and skips through the commercials anyway, so I really question the effectiveness of the advertising component. It was super annoying to hear the analysts (especially Paul Azinger) trying to cram in his comments due to the lack of air time available, so the commercials also take away from the quality of the analysts. Back to the Play Through, I’m in my late 60’s and can’t see as well as I used to, so I really can’t make out what’s happening in the small box allowed for the play through. But yes, the Ryder Cup, as well as the US Open broadcasts, were absolutely horrible. This is exactly why I enjoy watching LIV events—no commercials, just golf!

  10. IMO, 1) Marketing fail. Most of the time, I'm wondering who the heck is this guy. So faceless, impersonal, show. 2) Don't care for the lack of sportsmanship, both sides. 3) Americans played like crap in day 1&2. Eg A lot of risk adverse putt lagging. 4) The pay issue was a don't care. If the Americans don't want to play for free, don't participate and stay home.

  11. I have always thought that when it comes to interruptions and distractions that professional golfers were the weakest professional athletes, when it comes to being able to maintain their focus and concentration. Do you have NFL kickers getting iced all the time, and in the NBA do you have a whole coliseum full of people screaming as you’re trying to make free throws. I’ve always felt like the professional golfers just need a back up and become more like their other counterparts in different sports and quit expecting to be catered to.

  12. When politics got involved in golf, I think it turned off a lot of casual viewers who would have otherwise tuned in for the Ryder Cup.

  13. Missing golf shots: Show replays. Yes it’s not live because of commercials but at least we get to see the shots. Ryder cup didn’t even show shots to update the matches. It was like, hey how did the Euros go one up in that match. Terrible. It shouldn’t be that hard with only 4 matches and not all golfers hitting shots at the same time. Sky sports probably didn’t have enough cameras like US broadcasts have.

  14. They only tanked in the US….most Americans don't understand that the rest of the world actually exists

  15. If the RC revenue is say $400 million, absolutely the players must get a % of that…typical golf bodies ripping off the players…if the top players don't play it would be a joke

  16. Every one of the US players will have a clause in their sponsor contracts that gives them a premium for membership of a "national" squad. They get given $200k to donate to the charity of their choice. The RC revenues help build the PGA annuity they can all call on after they retire. Let's be very clear, these players do NOT get nothing financially out of this – on the contrary, they will do very well out of it. The problem here is the increasingly toxic "if there's money being made I deserve yet more of it" culture of never-enough entitlement that now pervades (and arguably is ruining) the professional circuit.

  17. How does soccer make it work with no commercials??? Commercials aren’t nearly as effective as they used to be…and shouldn’t be as valuable
