This One Move Won Viktor Hovland The FEDEX Cup

In this video, I’ll show you a proven swing thought that enabled Viktor Hovland to win the FedEx Cup and a bonus of $18,000,000. This downswing swing thought will assist you with your wedges, irons, and driving.

The key swing thought is to clear the left shoulder up and out of the shot. By doing this, he can extend the lead side of his body, creating incredible rotation. This provides him with the space needed to achieve a fantastic release and an awesome follow-through. It also allows him to add right bend, which helps him shallow the club in the downswing. The other amazing aspect is that this technique works for your iron play as well.

Additionally, I will demonstrate some simple swing drills that will teach you this movement, enabling you to effortlessly incorporate it into your game.

  1. I can’t believe you give all of this information away for free Gilles. I’d love you to have a show on the golf channel one day!

  2. The bent left arm is Def different. The way he pulls that left arm in guarantees he doesn't miss left

  3. Excellent video Giles on how to duplicate Victor Hovland's golf swing! I like the alignment stick "drag through" drill that you demonstrated. I have used the golf club drag through in the past. Both of these drills are quite beneficial to me since I do not always get my left shoulder back and around, which in turn gets the hip rotating as they should on the downswing and follow through. As always, good job Giles!

  4. Love your channel, you’re my main online source when it comes to learning and trying to improve. Today I had a lesson with my local coach because I am slicing the driver. I’m not rotating my body enough so leaving the face open at impact, other than this video do you have others which you’d recommend to fix this specific issue?

  5. Cause and effect! Comes from the oddest places in the golf swing seemingly!
That’s the biggest thing I’ve learned!

  6. Great video. Always concerned when I hear “ allows you to swing as hard as you can”. To me, at 69 years old, just that sentence hurts and also is remedy for over top swing!

  7. Three great drills that will help with the follow through which I find to be a challenge! Thanks Giles!

  8. Giles awesome video! Is there a drill, video, or feeling you have for the pressure shift to the ball in your left foot? Most people call it a weight shift. I like to call it a pressure shift because i understand your first move is supposed to be down into the ball of your left foot and then you push out of it into your heel and your lead should move out of the swing. I struggle sometimes with thins chucks and hooks. I think it is because i dont get my pressure into the ball of my left foot as you explain

  9. This tip is GOLD!
Padraig Harrington has a similar technique in that he tries to stop the arms at impact (pretty intense!), but it's essentially what Victor Hovland is doing.

  10. Love Victor’s swing – and love his weigh transfer too! Giles – what I really like is the emphasis on one thought/movement – lead shoulder for=es down – club “takeaway” is o single unit and clubface where it should be – we have space at the top to gather energy – and then- left shoulder reverses/returns/ and we get serious speed/compression – in a non stressed movement! AND – for those of us who could have 30 “random” thoughts during any one swing – lead shoulder makes it way simpler!
