Higgs is simply moving the center of his dispersion pattern 20ft left in order to take the right bunker out of play. By doing that, a rightward miss will actually reward him with a tap in birdie instead of leaving him with an up and down from the bunker to save par. Hitting his target leaves just a 20ft putt (which is a lot closer and more makable than it sounds). Missing left is just a longer putt, or a straightforward chip. Simple, and smart.
