I'm not yet convinced Balogun's clearly better at the 9 than an in-form Pepi. I suspect Balogun would be electric as a wing forward, but with Pulisic and Weah, Balogun isn't needed on the wing. Maybe if Weah's form dips, but right now Weah is cooking.
Regardless, having two productive options at the 9 is important for this side. It had zero productive options there in Qatar, and that was a fatal flaw. I'm hoping Vazquez balls out at the Gold Cup and forces himself into the conversation, too.
