I sympathize with his family struggles etc but the fact he got the Pittsburgh job literally a day or two after being fired says to me that a) he lied to the media and fans about not wanting to go anywhere else and b) he was doing some back door dealing with Pittsburgh saying to them " hey it looks like its going south her in Toronto can i get a job." It would've been different if it had been a week or two cause in my mind that says yeah they had time to chat without him being officially with the leafs but since it was literally i think the Monday he says he doesn't want to leave Tuesday hes fired a s the Thursday/Friday its announced hes going to Pittsburgh then i think thats sus

What Toronto Media seems to forget is that Nylander has not signed yet. The signals that they are sending are disrespectful to Nylander's talent. What would happen if you put Marner in the same type of situation, making him play on the 3rd line? Do you really think he would produce better than Nylander? Hockey players are humans, too, and the way that you are treated is important. I have a hard time believing that Nylander does not feel mistreated compared to Matthew, Tavares, and Marner. I also do not understand how Toronto Media can call them core four and bundle Nylander into “we are paying the top four guys”. The correct description is, at the moment, top 3. If you do not want to pay him, trade him instead of this circus. If he resigns with Toronto, it will be like a couple where they are still together even though they both know that one party has been unfaithful. In Media's analysis, you are always missing the human side of things.
