  1. DO YOU LIKE OUR LOGO?? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  2. I swear to god if Ohtani doesn’t come to Mets because some old guy won’t let him wear 17 I’m gonna lose my freaking brain m 😡😡😡😡

  3. This "retired numbers' thing in the sports is just ridiculous. It tells you superstitions are rampant (and idiotic) in the sports.

  4. The number on the back is unimportant as Ohtani wore 16 in Japan. Also Paul Goldschmidt never asked for his D-Backs 44 when he got traded to the Cardinals. Ohtani and Goldy are more about the game and not their individualality

  5. 30 HR before the all star game to go with his pitching excellence. Untouchable. The greatest player ever. Gotta go with Marcus on this one. I like Keith, but he comes across as a douche here. “I did this for the Mets, and I’m still living on that.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍

  6. Many comments below as to why Ohtani's Jersey number is a moot point but I say the biggest moot point is because Ohtani won't be desiring to join the Mets

  7. People compare him to Ruth, Jordan, Gretzky… They don’t get it. These guys had a life outside of their sport. Even Kobe had a family and did things besides basketball. Shohei Ohtani only cares about 3 things: sleeping, eating, and baseball. And the first 2 only serve to help number 3. This guy cares about his jersey number only as much as he cares about women, or money, or fame, or drugs or whatever is irrelevant to what he does on the field. He simply doesn’t care.

  8. What he should have done is offer up the number because Ohtani wouldn't have taken it. As a sign of respect both ways

  9. Yankees wouldn't change their logo. I do think they'd take a few numbers out of retirement if he really wanted one that wasn't owned by a legend. But that logo is as marketable as Shohei and will be around a lot longer than him. But I want to believe he is the external FA that Hal salivates over because with Yankee's marketing strength and access, they can make the entire value of the contract in advertising deals and promotions in the first 2 years alone. They'll sell the rights to the sequence of ads that play behind Shohei when he hits. They'll sell specific ads connected to when he comes up to pitch. He'll be part of marketing campaigns for all different things with them wearing their brand. That type of money in Hal's pocket means more to him than the rings that Shohei could also help us win, that is just ancillary.

  10. Kratz is off that no one is too good to say you can't have my number. He can't just go to Boston and ask for 9 or go to NY and ask for 3 or 4. Dodgers wouldn't unretire 32 or 42. Giants aren't giving anyone else 24 or 25. Braves aren't giving out 44. Certain players' numbers are untouchable. But the Yankees, for example, would probably only hold 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 42 as guaranteed off limits numbers. I don't think they'd take unretiring a number lightly because of the way they treat their players and legends. But even they would likely do it if Shohei needed 16 for example (the number he wears for team Japan).

  11. Todd Frazier is playing down to these young bucks! He knows Keith Hernandez is a GOD in Mets lure! '86 was the last fkn time the Mets won 🏆 the world series and when YOU WIN IN NY YOU ARE GOLD FOREVER! And not only that, the MANNER in which they won that year! SO I don't want to hear it and for Stroman to yap his mouth because he had and saw imaginary villains while he played his brief stint shows how out of touch and out of FOCUS he was! He's directing all vitriol towards the Mets and their fans/ franchise! AND FOR Punc ass MARC Stromman to call #17 a dinosaur I don't think Keith cares but it's ill willed on Punc ass Marc's case! And Keith Hernandez is a border line hall of famer; You can NEVER EVER AND WILL NEVER EVER say that about Stroman soft bread! Boy grow up and quit yapping your mouth! All of these players think they're the shit because they're making Millions of dollars but if Keith were to play in your era boy he would MAKE MORE then you! So shet your mouth and stop throwing spite at someone who is 20× better then you'll ever be! Said you grew up Mets fan I FIND THAT HARD to believe based on what you just said! Respect your elders boy! Especially when they're 30x better then you'll ever be!

  12. Why would he want to play for the Mets ? They stink . Could you imagine what Buck Chokewalter would do to him . Cohen is a masochist, he’ll pay 600 million for him , and they’ll still lose .

  13. Marcus Stroman was a 2 way player back in his college days.
I just want Shohei to come to an east coast team so everybody watch plays.

  14. Shohei's number is beneath him…. he could care less…. he has more class than the rest of us combined.

  15. Kieth Hernandez just said the wrong thing.. he is clearly delusional to think that steve cohen would miss an opportunity to get the best player of our generation.

  16. I mean, he prefers 27 and or 16 anyway… but he probably won’t care at all if they win 😂

  17. I don’t think they understand that Keith Hernandez’ number is retired and he can’t even give it to him
