SERGIO GARCIA CALLED DESPERATE AFTER ‘BIZARRE’ RYDER CUP INCIDENT!

Sergio Garcia, one of the best DP World tour golfers of all time has been made to look VERY VERY desperate in an attempt to make the Ryder Cup squad this year in Italy! This year the he will not be playing in the Ryder Cup but not for the want of trying! The 2017 Masters champion Sergio Garcia has missed just one Ryder Cup since his debut in 1999, and in a bid to keep up this impressive run!

Sergio Garcia Keen to make a Ryder Cup return though, the Spaniard and his team are said to have approached European bosses to settle both his differences & much more! Now this all was some what a possibility due to the peace talks between the DP World Tour and PGA Tour with LIV Golf and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.

Players on the breakaway circuit are set to be able to reapply for membership across both tours following the conclusion of the ongoing negotiations. Garcia’s attempt though appeared to come too soon, with application for DP World Tour membership not open until next year.

  1. Sorry, not sorry. His real legacy in golf was the Ryder Cup, and he traded that for more cash than he’ll ever even be able spend. And now he has regrets. Boo hoo.

When Sergio first came to the States, I think most golf fans here really embraced him and thought he’d be a great foil for Tiger. But turns out he wasn’t … too bad, because that era of golf would have been more interesting if he had been that guy.

Now he’s over the hill and worried about his RC legacy. I just can’t drum up an ounce of sympathy.

  2. Yes i agree Sergio has the best record for the European team but let's not forget the words he ranted before joining liv i think we have enough talented young players out there to make a fantastic team for us we need to look at the future rather than the players who have done great for team Europe

  3. He’s basically the European Patrick Reed. I think team Europe is stronger without him. Monty also has a good record but time moves on. Would rather have Aberg in there. There was a strong argument for Meronk over Rose for similar reasons. Build the team for the future

  4. 2 takes.
    1. Ryder Cup should take who ever they want. Be above the fray of PGA and LIV.

    2. He’s always been a prick. And always will be.

  5. "I will pay my fines if you allow me to play"… maybe pay the fines, then lobby to play. It would seem like less of an ultimatum at that point in my opinion. He had to know when he decided to go LIV, the RC was in jeopardy. Funny when people have FU money and get told to F Off😂😂😂

  6. €700,000.00 is nothing to him. He is probably one of the wealthiest players. He shouldn't be able to play, his form isn't good enough. But I agree he should maybe have a role in the event, vice captain or something.

  7. I like Sergio he is a brilliant ball striker and as stated has a phenomenal Ryder Cup pedigree…..IMO this whole issue of LIV golf and PGA has ruined the game….great players not being considered for selection…..at the moment the game stinks and those creating the problems should be ashamed of themselves as they aren't promoting a good example of what the game is about to both those who play and those who don't and won't encourage new players to take up the game….

  8. As an American I’m glad he’s not there. We would have probably won either way but Sergio a handful in match play.

  9. Sergio is a child. He’s never grown up and all his antics over the yrs are ridiculous. He doesn’t deserve a thing from DPWT.

  10. Experience only brings you so far. Form and putting are always key to winning.

  11. That is why, Sergio is the GOAT. He is willing to humble himself for the greatness of the EU Ryder Cup team. A patriot to the end. 🙄

  12. You want Patrick Reed back in the Ryder Cup ? The cheating – disrespectful loud mouth player that has no honor ? Really ?

  13. Considering the leaderships we are dealing with here, Sergio was being a bit delusional.

BuT also showing his passion for the event.

That being said Sergio saying I’ll play whatever events not on LIv weeks is nonsense —at least for now — as that could have been the case all along…and really should have been the case all along…but that’s not here nor there.

We have to deal with reality. And the reality is Pelley was not going to agree to any of this.

The only reason Sergio felt emboldened to do this is because Rahm is clearly pissed not to have his wing man.

There will be many reasons to blame either pelley or Monahan depending on which team loses. But Pelley finding a way to keep Sergio out of the Cup is the most significant, as Rahm has been showing.

Rahm does NOT care about what tour Sergio is on or even how he is playing, he wants Sergio on this team baaaad, and that is because Rahm remembers clearly last time at Whistling Straits when America was clicking on all cylinders and dominating, Rory crying for the cameras after and all that, it was only the Spanish duo that was still still getting it done for Europe.

If Europe loses everyone will be focused on Meronk getting snubbed, but rahm will be thinking about Sergio.

  14. If the senior European Ryder Cup players fail to deliver then the topic of exclusion will become massive and a seemingly huge problem for The Ryder Cup product. It’s not looking too good if you take a look at the recent BMW PGA Championship results at Wentworth.

  15. I think this RC is going to be very close, Europe has a weaker team than the US but has home field advantage. Someone like Garcia could definitely tip the scales in favor of Europe if he was a vice captain. Unfortunately too much politics involved and no objective view to achieve the best outcome.

  16. I think DP are being a bit petty now given the framework agreement. If they make the rules they can change the rules.

That being said I don’t think he or any of the other LIV euro players would have made the team.

But having Sergio, Westy, Stenson and Poults as vice captains, even GMac, would have been a great move.

  17. rider cup is a joke, best players not even there…..why would sergio be fined i thought they were private contractors ????????

  18. Stop this «he has a good track record in Ryder cup, so he should have been picked-thing». Garcia will have the same track record when he is 60, should everyone who has a good track from previous Ryder cups be given an automatic spot forever? LOL. Besides, you have to take into consideration who they are paired up with also, cause even if you play really good you can lose if the one you play with plays bad…and the same if you play just ok and the one you play with plays great, you still got a point in the track record. Hovland played pretty good last Ryder cup, but he still got only 1 point out of 5 because of the ones he was paired with didnt play that well.

  19. Who cares abt him. Nobody likes him. He took LIV Millions in exchange of RC, Majors, and PGA tour etc. Stop crying 😂😂😂

  20. Anyone who left the PGA or DP tours for LIV should not be able to play in ryder cup of presidents cup events . Me personally , I do not think they should not be able to play any event involving the two tours including the major events . They went to LIVout of greed and should only play in it . Just my thoughts on the matter . THANK YOU

  21. What has Sergio done in the last 2 years to warrant a place on the Ryder Cup team? Even if he hadnt gone to LIV he has done NOTHING. He didnt have one good performance in a Major either. Maybe he can be Captain in the future when the dust has settled.

  22. I'm confused Brooks Koepka is a LIV player on the USA squad, Sergio isn't good enough to play in the Putt-Putt Mini-Golf Ryder Cup.

  23. Personally I think the fining of all of these players that resigned and went to LIV just shows the punitive approach of Moinahan. where else in the world as a professional athlete, or any professional do you get fined for resigning your job becasue you want to go to another work place or employer. I personally would be suing Moinihan for restirction of employment. Also should Sergio be in the Ryder team, no. He is not playing as well as he used to – its time for a new set of young guns which Europe has.

  24. If Sergio was smart, he and some of his friends on the LIV tour would file an antitrust lawsuit against the DP World Tour in the European courts in Brussels.
One of the reasons the USGA became so friendly with LIV recently is that LIV and the players had a very good case to make about the sanctions and exclusions imposed by the USGA being illegal. The players are not employees.
