Had to make a clip of this Eben Etzebeth tackle on Mark Telea, it was one of the very few bright spots for the Springboks in their matchup vs the All Blacks. In classic Eben fashion, he is always close to the action and in this case he sees Mark Telea making a break and reads it to perfection to deliver a monster tackle that blindsided Mark Telea, it’s actually impressive that Telea didn’t lose possession as it didn’t seem like he saw Eben coming from the side, usually those types of tackles result in a knock, so hats off to him for keeping the ball. Then we of couse have Eben casually getting back to his feet and getting straight into the action by almost getting a charge down. The guy is just a workhorse and always gives a 110% effort. South Africa is truly lucky to have him.
South Africa vs New Zealand is always a great match, and we lost this time, but there were some positives to take and I’m sure the springboks will be back to their best by the time the World Cup starts.
