  1. I like how you put some energy into reading his quotes. Did you try to watch videos of those interviews and copy the way he said things, or just read it and put your own flare on it?

  2. Im sorry but this whole story sounds like some major BS Embiid told to gain some popularity points and now you are retelling it like its a fact. Im sure he watched greats play basketball, but the whole narrative of him falling in love with Hakeems game? Give me a break. Dude is manipulative af he knew how much NBA media loves Olajuwon. The comment he made about Hakeem recently shows his true colors. If he actually watched and idolized Hakeem he would know that Hakeem cant have low basketball iq.

  3. Olajuwon on Jokic:

"He doesn't look strong, but I see he gets such deep post position. I think maybe it's the mismatch, but then he does the same thing against bigger guys. His shot, his fakes, they are very difficult to time. You don't know when he's faking and when it's real. He has tricks!"

    Olajuwon nods. "He's the one!"

  4. Hakeem was really 6'10 and played every bit of a dominant 4. The dribbles, Preference to spot up, Accelerated fadeaways, Speed inspired more than laterally inspired defense, Post playmaking, ability to catch up to shots on the perimeter, the list does go on.

Embiid is a Center, Hakeem is a strong and fast PF.
Look at the stamina difference between the two, look at the spin cycle differences. Hakeem is speed and power oriented whereas Embiid is leverage and power oriented.
Hakeem played PF early in his career and before.

The reason a guy like Embiid or Shaq cant play like Hakeem is because they are literally too long and slow. This counteracts their directional movement, thus lessening their post maneuverability or footwork when compared to Hakeem.
Hakeem succeeded in 95 against Shaq, at a 3 inch height disdvantage, and he'd likely do it again to a fat shaq because shaq would have to expend more energy trying to guard Hakeem or even contain the paint. Even Kwame Brown gave Shaq hell and would do the same to Embiid.

These statements remain true for many other centers in the NBA, who may just be a PF playing center for their team.

  5. I'm pretty sure if Hakeem played today he'd also have a 3. Whatever Embiid does now Hakeem can do it so much better. Embiid is good, but he's no Hakeem with that smooth moves and jumper, plus he's not slow. He's quick, really quick. And his defense is phenomenal

  6. No doubt Hakeem is better. But question if Embiid is better than David Robinson?

  7. Both are also afraid to dominate the paint. If you watch them both, they are finesse big man on offense. It's worse for embiid tho. Hakeem matched up against better bigs in his era while embiid isn't making much if brown and smart is on him. Not disregarding their greatness, but they really don't have a dominant big mentality on offense. They play like a wing minus they spot ups on offense.

  8. Is there really an issue with Embiid settling for 3 pointers? The modern nba needs big guys do more than just post up.

  9. Embiid needs a stronger mentality. That has always and is still his biggest issue. And that is what people like Hakeem want more from him. Shooting isn't why it's setting, it's the lack of aggression.
He is capable of it, but he doesn't have the self confidence on court when things get hard. He needs to step up. And if he does they will win a championship.

  10. You can definitely see the similarities between Embiid and Hakeem. Both are big men, both have brilliant footwork down low in the post, both can dominate on both sides of the ball extremely well. 2 great centers in the NBA.

  11. The reason Embiid doesn't post up and dominate the paint is because the refs simply will not allow him. Just watch the Boston series, how is it even possible for Marcus Smart to guard Embiid one on one? It's not, as soon as Embiid get's the ball, Smart will just throw his face into Embiids elbow and flop and Embiid is called for an offensive foul. Embiid even euro steps around players in the lane to avoid being called and still gets called because to guard Embiid all you have to do is flop.

  12. That beat in the beginning is tite. Need to put them titles in the transcript my good friend…..

  13. The irony. Before hakeem converted to islam he is given the nickname THE SLAP because of his temperament imbeed on the other is givin the title THE CRY BABY.😅😂😅

  14. it would be poetic and awesome if Embiid can will the 76ers to back to back rings and then the Warriors dynasty came back after. it would very very reminiscent of the Bulls split dynasty with Hakeem’s back to back rings in the 90’s. just a thought i had during this video

  15. hakeem was a dream to watch.embiid is a regular season hack.blames everyone else, dumb lazy defence.these 2 shouldnt be compared

  16. Sorry Andy, you should never ever compare Embiid to Hakeem. It’s so disrespectful to Hakeem. Embiid is just same category as KAT and Rudy Gobert

  17. Just came back to comment this is the worse comparison in nba history😂😂😂😂😂

  18. Do never compare Dream to Embiid. Dream was never soft like Embiid.
