It's fine to have a big goal for yourself. But he officially has my doubt. There's no shot he's back this season. It's september. The playoffs start in January. that's like 4 months to rehab an injury that takes MOST people a year to come back from. Healthy 23 year olds usually take 8-12 months and more people take 12 than 8.
It's not a matter of will or desire or effort. It's a matter of blood flow. Tendons don't have much. So they heal very slowly. Especially a big thick one like the achilles that has to bear more than your full body weight.
He should look into Eli Tomac, dude tore his in May and was jogging around in August
Just look at Justin verlander. He had a severe ligament injury in his elbow at a similar age and then came back and won the Cy Young. I foresee A-Rod doing similar and coming back looking better than ever
