  1. He’s right. It was the right play call. Butler had just been burned on it in practice and so he practiced it like 100 times, so when he saw it he knew and he jumped it. Also Wilson should have seen it and not thrown it there

  2. They had a TO, plus could’ve just ran a roll out & thrown it out the back if nothing was there, to stop the clock too.

  3. The Patriots game planned so well, the defense made an excellent decision based off the offensive formation and they knew what was coming. Sometimes that’s what football is all about, just one play. That’s one of the reasons why I love football so much.

  4. This interview is what these behind the scenes, player led interviews are all about. World class stuff here

  5. The issue with the play wasn't the face it was a pass. The issue was it was a pick play that they ran a few times that game. Me and a lot of people watching the game knew it was a pick play by the formation. You can't go back to the well against a Belichick coached defense.

  6. I feel like this was my dad or grandpa finally sitting down and apologizing for something that happened so many years ago…thanks for the closure dad…I mean Coach Pete

  7. Tbh Malcolm Butler explained he’d seen the look in practice the week leading up to it, ended up making the play, not much Carroll can do against a kid willing to make a splash in a SB so he doesn’t become irrelevant again. The play would have worked, Kearse or Lockett was right there on the goal line, close play.

  8. its a great call, the majority of the blame should be on russell wilson for not executing it, he lead the receiver too much and gave butler an opportunity to intercept it

  9. Man how you saying it back to yourself and don’t say bill set me up 😂 he did that on purpose he knew ya was gonna throw it

  10. Not a fan of either team, so I dont care, but bullshit! Everybody knew Russ was the golden child. Everybody knew Beast Mode was killing the pats and could have run it in. Coach definitely knows it and is coping HARD

  11. “I had no agenda.”

Besides the script handed to you to give Brady another SB knowing that it’ll be pawned off on Wilson after he’s slandered in the media when he’s paid off via a contract by the Bronco’s who new-owner are going through the hazing process.

  12. I was in college when this happened and i talked the most reckless shit for the rest of the year to anyone dumb enough to ride that Seahawks bandwagon.

  13. The Patriots scouted it, they new it was in Seattle’s goal line package and practiced it a bunch of times. When the moment came Butler knew what he had to do.

  14. They knew a throw was coming on that specific down because of the “rock solid philosophy” so maybe not so solid

  15. Butler doesn’t get enough recognition, yeah they should’ve ran the ball with lynch as their rb but butler jumped that route PERFECTLY. You guys don’t understand that would’ve been a touchdown had it been anyone else defending it.

  16. To be fair they never should have been that close to the end zone to begin with. It was another one of those bs catches that bobbles around everywhere then lands on the WRs chest that’s laying on his back. So one incredible play followed by another and universe is fixed.

  17. Finally- I’ve been telling Football Fans for years why Carroll threw: to get as many downs while Belichick didn’t call a Timeout as everyone expected him to

  18. Pete Carroll is a stand up guy. Like that irl, and you can see it clearly on this interview. Richard Sherman is blossoming as a media member.

  19. Patriots Send in the Goal Line Squad Because You Should Have RUN THE BALL.. 🤣😂
Pete Was Trying Too Set Russell Up For the MVP Trophy had that Play Ran Successfully
