This is my first year following football after ignoring the game for the last 7 years. In addition to the teams and players I already want to succeed I now have these predictions to add some interest to the season. I really want coach and Bru to be wrong a lot. They're even more smug and dismissive of Nick than Nick is of them and it makes them really fun to root against. It helps that their takes are ridiculous for the most part. It's gonna be a good season.

I love Nick's take. He knows Josh Allen is a journeyman hack and isn't afraid to call it. He also was the first to recognize Mahomes as the best QB in history and Trevor Lawrence as his main rival. Nick is simply a genius.

Nicks entire argument on how SF botched this whole Lance thing is based off of predicting the future. We don't know if Purdy will make it or not, he could lead them to a superbowl title. To say you need to give Lance a fair chance just because what you gave up for him in draft capital is a terrible idea. SF has a roster ready to win a superbowl right now. If you give Lance his "fair chance" and turns out to be another Ryan Leaf or Jamarcus Russell all the while you have a guy that had already shown a lot more promise than Lance relegated to the bench. So at what point do you pull the plug on Lance if you give him that shot? He's had a handful of games already (same as what Purdy had) so do you go with him hakf the season and possibly start 3-5 and then flip flop again? Do you call the season a lost cause and let him play out the season in hopes that something clicks? There is no way to definitively say this is a distaster with as much conviction as Nick has without having the largest ego in sports talk television.
