Chan Sung Jung, AKA the Korean Zombie is a thrilling martial arts sensation who’s fought everyone.

In his next fight, he got the fastest knockout in UFC featherweight history at 7 seconds.
In his 3rd fight in 2012, Zombie submitted The Diamon Dustin Poirier via Darce Choke.
This led the Zombie to his first title shot, where he would get finished by Jose Aldo.
Unfortunately, this is when the Prime of Zombie’s career was interrupted by mandatory Korean military service.
Upon his return 4 years later, He finished Dennis Bermudez in round 1, then became the LATEST finish in featherweight history with 1 second left in the fight,
But afterwards picked up 2 first round finishes over Renato Moicano and Frankie Edgar.
But after losing to Brian Ortega and getting a decision over Dan Ige, The Korean Zombie got his 2nd title shot to Alexander Volkanovski, where he would get destroyed by the champion, but in my eyes this doesn’t take away from

From watching Korean Variety shows, I’ve learned that the only people who can get exceptions from their military service are medalist athletes, artists(painters, sculptors), etc and BTS members, although in their case, I think it’s only a temporary exception. Famous boxers or MMA fighters are not exempt from military service.
I’m not sad about Zombie’s retirement though, just yesterday I watched a show hosted by Sexyama, where he was competing against Kim Dong Hyun.
