Sync Your Body & Arms (99% Of Amateurs Get This Wrong) | Paddy’s Golf Tips #46 | Padraig Harrington

In this lesson, I share how to establish the correct relationship between the arms and the body in your swing. I demonstrate how you can develop the correct sequencing through the feeling of a shorter arm swing, with a full turn back and through.

  1. God love ya' Paddy. As always, we appreciate you taking the time to help us old duffers play better golf! Cheers!

  2. awesome lesson Paddy! I was just at Champions run GC TN. The course looks much better nowadays after remodel, but still not even close to what you play each week. 🙂

  3. Another great video by the best professional golfer making YouTube videos! Clear, Concise, and Engaging: Paddy's communication style is perfect. He breaks down complex details into easily digestible steps, ensuring that even beginners can follow along without feeling overwhelmed. He addresses fundamental principles and provides advanced insights, making it beneficial for everyone. His demonstration of the swing helped me understand the nuances better than any written instructions could.

  4. Good luck tomorrow Paddy !!
For me as a left handed right hander its bloody hard, I can only assume what you guys feel being propper handed, what I mean is, for me, as a left hander, my main hand is right hand, this is top hand, and left hand is lower which, when I hold anything in it feels weak uncoordinated no control, I just hope for the best when I hit, but being a left hander feels right, If I grab anything with two hands i'm left handed, nearly everything else is right handed. Here's to hit n hope lol. I have a hcp of around 9.

  5. Mid range bunker shots – 50 to 80 yards. No idea how to hit these shots.

  6. Another golden nugget from Paddy , your time helping us less fortunate is always appreciated, for me you have become one of the top people in golf taking your own time and putting it our way so we can improve if just a little bit . What I would love to see is that TV programme come back ( around with Alliss ) but obviously it would be a round with Paddy , maybe your too young to remember it 😗………my tip would be to ask how you stay focused over a shot and stop your mind wandering , I have got better over the past year with trying to stop other things rushing to my head and just concentrate on the dimply object in front of me but just wondered if you had any tips for maximum focus ……thank you as always for your generosity and fingers crossed 🤞🏻 you win on the regular tour as your still up there playing unbelievable golf ……💪👏

  7. Been playing golf for 3 months, 1st 4-6 weeks I was getting better but the last 4-6 weeks I have been horrendous and now worse than I was when I first picked up a club

Filmed my swing for the very first time and noticed I have no backswing

Your backswing in this video your hands are above you head and the majority of videos watching someone play golf their hands at at minimum head height in the backswing

My hands aren't even as high as my chest, they are middle of rib cage and I feel this is as far back as I can get

What can I do to improve this?

  8. I think Tiger tells us to stop watching YouTube videos. I beg to duffer. Thanks as always Paddy. A pint on me if you happen through Richmond UK

  9. brilliant as always! solid clear information! cheers Padraig for taking the time to do these videos. much appriecated.

  10. Really struggling with pulling my arms through the swing rather than swinging club. Suffer with low and high fades/slices. Losing 20 yards distance. Also my body tends to get to far ahead of the ball and I feel like I may turn my body to soon causing over the top action. Definitely going to be giving this a try. Top, top video and tip!

  11. Always great tips, thank you. What I'd like to see, is how to position the body (head, legs, arms, etc.) to help prevent against fatting or thinning the ball with the irons from the fairway

  12. Fair to say, especially for amateurs, you'd generally see very little difference in clubspeed and distance between a full swing and a 3/4 swing? I feel like I play my best when my default swing is kind of an abbreviated 3/4 swing, but in control and well-tempo'd. It might even be better for me to think of 3/4 swings as "100%" effort, and anything beyond that is like 110%.

Most people's perception of a 3/4 swing probably ends up being more like a ~90% effort in reality anyway.
