The Ryder Cup proves, time after time, that underdogs can become legends. And that was the case for Phillip Price at the 2002 Ryder when he, as World Number 119 at the time, defeated the World Number Two Phil Mickelson at The Belfry.

Jeder kann jeden schlagen im Rydercup ! Great Story!
Thank you for one of the greatest memories I have with my dad. You played great golf….thank you so.
I remember it well. You out played Phil Mickelson, he was shell shocked. Well done sir..
Tell em who I beat!!!
Unforgettable
Iconic match! I was just a kid and Phil became some sort of superhero
I was there for the whole week, it was fantastic, well played all of Europe, and Phillip, what a smooth swing and great scoring against Mickelson, well done to you.
Guys – please fix the typo on the thumbnail….
Fantastic.
Wonderful guy.. what a victory.. never forget it..
Still my favourite ryder cup moment
Nothing beats the Ryder Cup in sport, the elation, the emotional highs are on a different level altogether from anything else that I've witnessed in sport. 1985-1989 where Europe kept the trophy throughout & won on US soil for the first time was an incredible time & gave us some wonderful memories.
Lovely bloke. Great contribution. Created an amazing memory.
What a performance. A huge shift that day in the Philliverse…
That singles match is perhaps one of the most iconic underdog wins in Ryder Cup history
"Tell 'em who I beat, tell 'em who I beat"
I love Sam Torrance's story about Phil. What a Ryder Cup legend.
Love stories like this. Philip will remember this for the rest of his days and so will everyone that watched that Ryder Cup. Magic.
I met Philip Price and his wife at Gatwick Airport a few years ago and he took the time to have a chat to me. Great golfer and an absolute gent!
