Adrian deserved a spot. I will take hin instead oh Shane. Shane is a cool an nice guy but had a quiet weak season! You saw Adrians performance in switzerland last week and youll see it this week at the horizon open! I understand that he is very angry!
The weakest links in this Ryder Cup are the two captains.
Dear Mr Meronk: I’ve never heard of you, but I’m sure you’re an excellent golfer. Don’t sweat it. The Ryder Cup sucks. It’s just a lot of faux patriotic baloney. If you are really attached to this phoney competition, use your already considerable wealth, fly to Italy, follow the teams around, glare menacingly at the players, pull a wedgie on Luke Donald when he’s got his back turned, get drunk and yell, “Mashed Potatoes!” when Rory tees off. You’ll feel all the better for the effort. Better yet, call Greg Norman and get on with LIV. That’ll really piss off Rors and Lukey.
Absolutely Meronk should have been picked. I wonder who or what rolled Donald over. This will have an impact in Meronk's life for many years. No more respect for Donald, should have been Stenson!!!

I think the problem is the qualification process. Meronk is a much better bet than Macintyre who only made the cut in Switzerland and thus qualification for the Ryder Cup thanks to a metal post that deflected a ball going well out of bounds back into light rough near the fairway. A lot of posts will be needed in Rome for him to be that lucky again
That’s why there called Captains picks, but I do think he should be playing in the team it’s common sense
The top 12 players should be playing from both sides. No need for Captain's Picks. In the past there wasn't rankings, now there is . Let the players earn their spots with their play.

This puts so much pressure on Aberg now. Only pro 4 months, now in a Ryder cup team where the pressure is going to be immense.
I know it's not Abergs fault he's in this position but he really needs to step up otherwise he's going to catch so much shit, rightly or wrongly so.
There are always going to be debates and arguments about who should or shouldn't go. We have moved to more picks so this was likely to happen. Sure there are disappointed people every time. Tough luck, to Adrian but if he falls apart because of this it shows the decision was right. For me, I think Aberg is more of an issue that the experienced guys you chose but its about opinions when its just captains picks.
What are you going to say if Europe win the Ryder Cup. Your soon forget about all the players who never made the team, and no one will care I agree it is tough on the players in, never quite made it. But we should be getting behind our captain, not criticising him for not picking a player end of rant

Thank you for your honest and insideful comments. I am Polish and follow golf very often. It is obviously very disappointing that Adrian Meronk is not on the team. He deserves to be part of this year Ryder Cup. His form speaks for itself. I wish the European team good luck and will support them despite my mixed feelings about the selection. I believe Luke Donald gave the preferential treatment to the GB golfers…

Well I'm an American, so my opinion means little, BUT… I think Lukey Donald is a DINK for not picking Meronk, 5th in the order of merit. & he won at the same track they're playing on, as recently as THIS YEAR, say what??? Luke is D U M B. Aside from that, although Fleetwood is awesome, and I love his style of play, he doesn't have that FIRE, that's why he's never won on the PGA tour, and Lowry is WAY out of form right now, but he does have that fire. Which one of those captains picks has a better record than Meronk this year???

We have such a great team for the Ryder Cup.
And decisions have to be made.
Hojgaard and Aberg are obviously the future of European Golf and shall have the opportunity to get some Ryder Cup experience.
But, i do understand his explanations about his emotions. That's totally normal when you are hoping to get this phone call by Luke Donald telling you that your in the team and get disappointed.

Thank you for your insights/opinion. Unfortunately, I think the selections are bias towards golfers who move the needle for ratings. It is an entertainment show right! BTW the crumbs on the table made me LOL! Best of luck Europe!

Another point of view is the Ryder Cup is a team sport so the team togetherness he is a slow player so the other players would not like to play with him. That was a cheap shot about Rory being part of picking I am watching the Irish open he is tough to watching he is not playing well. He needs to grow up.

I belive that a major reason Meronk wasn't picked was due to his incredibly slow play. Ryder cup captains have to consider "pairings" & finding players who partner well with slow players is very difficult !
I would have preferred Meronk over Lowry. Shane is off form at the minute and his putting always seems to let him down.
Agree. Meronk should have been picked instead of either Lowry or Rose. As a rookie he would fight to prove his worth and would be strongly motivated; the old guns have nothing to prove. Glad Donald picked Hojgaard and Aberg.
