Wow. It got really awkward regarding the PIF funds. Many do not want the Saudis in golf over legitimate concerns. BUT too many players and tour officials will not be able to resist the $. It’s that simple.
I think a mistake PIF have made with LIV was the full frontal attack on the men’s professional golf with their own tour. It’s divided the game and is not the most constructive way of contributing to the game of golf.
PIF with a fraction of the money they have poured into LIV, working with the R&A, Augusta National, and USGA help develop amateur golf around the world building in a constructive way to expanding the reach of golf that will further the Saudi reputation as a trusted partner and supporter to the game of golf. It sounds from Martin Slumbers comments the R&A is at least open to discussion which is a excellent starting point.
@kevinmcguire. Hello. In my estimation, PIF does not care about growing the game. Golf is just a toy and a way to improve their reputation. Also, Something prestigious for them to burn $ on.

Too funny – the Saudis are "controversial" – and what about the war mongering status of America and England ? Golf is struggling – a good look in the mirror and some introspection is in order – to keep it real, gents. ! You're welcome for the tip.
US and England (UK inc.) have MAJOR historical issues no doubt. 100% agree. Far from innocent. But they spawned and grew the game to what it is. Saudis did not (there are 10 total courses in Saudi Arabia today). However US and UK and many other nations did spend a decades of $ on fossil fuels which made all this possible. Tangled web for sure.
