A stellar field heads to the Emerald Isle as the 2023 Horizon Irish Open takes place at The K Club. It returns to The K Club for the first time since 2016, when Rory McIlroy famously claimed the title as he eagled the final hole to win by three strokes and earn his first title as a professional golfer. McIlroy returns this week to the place where it all started. He’ll be feeling confident after securing automatic qualification to Luke Donald’s Ryder Cup Team and finished 3T in the TOUR Championship last week. Shane Lowry will also be among the field. He’ll be buoyant after being selected as a Captain’s pick by Luke Donald this week. He played well for a 12T finish at the Scottish Genesis Open in July. Adrian Meronk returns to defend his title this week. He made history as the first Polish winner on the DP World Tour by winning this event 12 months ago at Mount Juliet Estate. He’ll fancy his chances after claiming victory twice on the Tour this year. Others to look out for are Tyrrell Hatton, Min Woo Lee and Adam Scott.

  1. So…characters who shoot 3 under are shown for nearly half the video length; and you deign to show one putt on the first round leader!!! Brilliant editing!!!

  2. Luke Donald is a 🔔 end. Worst Ryder Cup Captain. Meronk should be in the team

  3. DP World Tour taking notes from old PGA highlights by just showing the putts… Because that's all we want to see… 🤦🏽‍♂️

  4. DP tour gives 15 sec coverage to the leader of the tournament! It appears they don't like a non European in lead. Shameful.

  5. i like that Vincent Norrman is playing this week. i realize he wasn't part of the Ryder Cup conversation and is new, however he did win on the PGA tour recently, and shows a lot of skill and promise.

  6. Not one highlight showing a player hitting driver – you have players like Rory and not one shot with a wood 😳

  7. I thought wildcards were given to players who were already in form, and you want in-form players in your team and not players who are trying find some sort of form? If you don't deserve one this time round, then no biggie. That's why it's so wrong that Adrian Meronk didn't receive a wildcard – He's been grinding for over a year. Obviously not a mate of Luke Donald. Europe can't do much worse than last time round. Need some new blood…
