Peter Kostis is a wealth of golf knowledge and insight including the golf swing. Why he isn’t in mainstream golf is a tragedy and goes to show that somebody out there cannot recognize talent.

National teams in most sports have tryouts. Keep your auto qualifiers and let the others duke it out. Load up a charter plane after East Lake and let all the hopefuls compete against each other and the auto qualifiers. This helps decide pairings and you’ll see who is a dawg in match play. At the end, its still comes down to the captain but there would be less hurt feelings and the captain would have a lot more data.

I like Peters take on the Ryder Cup and agree the President s Cup should go away. Replace it with this. PGA (American Players) vs PGA/DP (non Americans) vs LIV. No automatic qualification system for teams. Captain for each team can build their own super squad how they see fit. All 12 team members play everyday. No one sits. Each team plays 3 matches against the other two teams first two days. Best ball day one, alternate shot day two. No half points, all matches go extra holes until a winner is decided. Day three is singles. Team with most points after first two days picks their pairings for the 1st six matches. They must pick 3 players from team in 2 nd and third place. Team in second place follows suit for matches 7-12. Third place team selects pairing for 13-18. Winner is crowned by most points achieved over 3 days total. In case of tie after singles. Captains pick one player to represent their team in sudden death match play until a hole is won. The Supremacy Cup it shall be called.
There is no way JT should be on the team, he has totally sucked all year. 100% should've given that spot to Keegan.

I've been advocating a Ryder Cup with the whole world rather than the Presidents Cup for years. Break it down by continent and add LIV to an all-inclusive Ryder Cup. Winner hosts the next venue in the rotation. Make it happen!
