CAPE GIRARDEAU, Missouri – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men’s golf team kicks of the fall season on Monday when they compete at the Golfweek Collegiate Kickoff, hosted by Missouri, at Dalhousie Golf Course.
The 54-hole event will feature 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday with play starting at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start on Monday and an 8:30 a.m. start on Tuesday.
Dalhousie Golf Course plays 7,042 yards and is a par 72.
The Competition
There will be a 12-team field that will feature UTRGV, host Missouri, Ball State, Louisiana-Monroe, LSU, New Mexico State, Oral Roberts, Sam Houston, Stetson, UT Arlington, UT Martin, and UTEP.

Making Their Debut
The Vaqueros will have a pair of golfers that will be making their collegiate debut at the Golfweek Collegiate Kickoff.
McAllen Memorial alum Esteban Gonzalez qualified in the No. 2 spot and will be making his collegiate debut after a stellar high school career.
Emilio Gil Leyva, who comes to the program from Culiacan, Mexico, earned the No. 4 spot after qualifying round and will also be making his collegiate debut.
