Jets Legend Wesley Walker on Aaron Rodgers, Herm Edwards, Bill Parcells | New York Accent

Wesley Walker is one of the greatest wide receivers in Jets history, and he also has plenty of opinions. Walker discusses the enormous optimism surrounding this season’s Jets, and what Aaron Rodgers must do to bring that elusive Super Bowl home. He also is remarkably candid about former Jets coach Herm Edwards and how Herm changed for the worse after Walker played with him in college. Walker also discusses how difficult it was to be a former Jets player when Bill Parcells coached the team because Tuna only embraced his former Giants players. Walker discusses the lack of cohesion and camaraderie in the old Jets locker room, and how Joe Walton didn’t get to know him well. It’s an incredibly honest interview as Walker doesn’t hold back, with one of the best players ever to wear a Jets uniform.

  1. As a boy I wanted to be clutch like Wesley Walker. He is the reason I learned to catch the bomb.

  2. The Jets coaching staff in the mid 80s was made-up by a bunch of idiots for not giving Wesley Walker enough touches in that scheme since no one could cover him and the only player Walker couldn't outrun was Darrell Green; otherwise, Wesley burned everyone.

  3. Wesley is one of a kind – known him since drafted and blessed to be his friend! Most honest interview and such a great and graceful WR! A forever Jet!

  4. Wow, that takes me back. I'm 59, been a Jets fan my whole life, and this brings back fond memories of the 80's with Walker, Toon, and Ken O'Brien. Lots of great games back then.

  5. Wesley would be in the hall of fame if the Jets drafted Marino in 83. Wesley was always open on the deep routes, he would beat his man every single time, he's very underrated due to being on bad teams most of the time. Put him on the Steelers and he would be a legendary player.

  6. I’m sooo glad someone finally mentioned Matt Robinson thank you Wesley . People act like Matt Robinson never existed . Thanks Wesley for bringing up Matt Robinson and showing him some love as a jet quarterback .

  7. Wesley Walker was the Jersey I got when I was 12 in 82. He and Freeman McNeil were my favorites at the time. Let's go Jets! ✈️

  8. So nice to see and hear what Wesley is up to. He’s always been such a class act. I was a season ticket holder for over 30 years and saw every home game he played in and he was definitely one of the best. Also had the pleasure of being a neighbor of his in Dix Hills where our kids went to school together and his family always had the same class that he did. Glad to hear his family is well and that he’s been blessed with so many grandchildren. He’s definitely one of the good guys that’s always had his head screwed on right. God bless you and your family Wesley. It’s been an honor to watch your life and career progress.
